Belmont Talent Award came in yesterday for my son. 5000 per year. We had been warned not to expect a large award by Belmont alumni. So academic for Belmont 5000, talent 5000 year.

Waiting on Eastman, NEC, Juilliard, Boston University, Peabody and BOCO.

This is my first post, but I’ve been keeping up with everyone’s news and comments. Thanks to all for your amusing, insightful and generous sharing of information and especially to those who go beyond the call of duty. I have three acceptances to report for my D, BM vocal performance. University of North Texas: $2000 talent/$3000 academic and out-of-state tuition waived; Susquehanna University: $20,000 talent: Penn State Univ: $3000 talent. Waiting, waiting, excrutiatingly waiting for three more…

I have one more acceptance and scholarship to report. D received her official acceptance to UCSB (BM Vocal performance) and was awarded the CA Regents Scholarship (academic) for $6000 per year. Still waiting on talent awards from most schools and admission decisions from 3 more schools. lkbsmama --you are correct…excruciating is the word for it!

Congratulations to violagirl, musictwins and daughter, crazymusicmom and son, lkbsmama and daughter, and GS707 and daughter.

violagirl, I will assume a BM in Performance on viola at both schools unless you tell me otherwise.

lkbsmama, I have a son about to graduate from Susquehanna (he will be going to the University of Minnesota this September to start on his PhD in Quantitative Psychology) as well as a wife who is an alum of their Music Education program and a brother-in-law who graduated in Political Science there. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the school.

My daughter was accepted to Duquesne University voice/music education. $8000 academic and $3000 talent awards. Still waiting to hear from Eastman, SUNY Potsdam and Baldwin-Wallace

ryeellen, can you explain that a bit more? Is this for a Music Education degree with the primary instrument being voice, is it a single degree combining Vocal Performance and Music Ed, or is it two separate degrees for Performance and Music Ed? Thanks.

I got a call from the head of the department at suny purchase today! I have been accepted into the opera and vocal performance program as a soprano. the wait is over!

yes BassDad all acceptances are BM Composition, unspecified. Happy to say you can add Ithaca to that list, same as above, unspecified BM Comp! thanks!

Congratulations to ryeellen and daughter, Wishiwasamezzo, lake4 and son, musicohana and daughter, and SJTH and son.

ryeellen, please see my question above about the specific degree program.

lake4, does your son use an instrument or sing when working on his compositions? If so, I would like to include that rather than leaving it as unspecified.

SJTH, I was unable to determine what kind of degree was granted by the ICAM program at UCSD. I guessed a BS from the look of the curriculum, but please feel free to correct me there.

D accepted also to Crane at SUNY Potsdam for Music Ed w/voice concentration…waitlisted till April 1 for Vocal Performance. Accepted at Ithaca College School of Music for Vocal Performance. No word yet on awards.

Congratulations Musicohana. I have been following this thread for a long time-first time posting! My son auditioned for piano in early March at Jacobs, but we have not yet heard from them. Jacobs is his top choice for music schools. Can you tell me how you were notified?

She received a letter via snail mail. We didn’t see any change in her online account - not sure it was checked yesterday afternoon, though. Good luck!

DS was accepted at UMass Amherst into the Jazz Studies performance program. This is a BM degree. He received a scholarship of $2250. This program is for upright bass only.
