It seems to me as if they are sending specific emails to individual applicants who are missing forms, not a generalized email. So I’m thinking not receiving one doesn’t mean not accepted

How did you guys first get this idea!!! When I got the email, I only thought it was anotehr little innocent reminder…

Someone enlighten me please!??!

I didn’t get this email…errrrrr motion I second your sentiment.

Hey guys, I think if you have everything in - DO NOT WORRY. Why would they e-mail you again if you had everything???

@zakuropanda: I agree.

Getting this email isn’t even a definite YES. Surely amidst the hubub we must be rational.

Can somebody tell me when the decisions will be released?

The problem is that I checked the box stating that I was applying for financial aid and then NEVER submitted anything for it, so I would assume that if they really needed that info from me, then I would get the email…

@ChairmanGuo - look at old Chicago threads (and even look at threads for other colleges); it seems like this has in the past been a marker for EA acceptance. That may have changed, but at this point…everybody loves conjecture.

Did this email only ask for missing FA document? If so, for those who had complete FA application, it did not make sense for them to receive such email even if they were accepted, right??

At least I hope I am right : (

I don’t see why that explanation wouldn’t be right, collegeproject. At any rate, there don’t seem to be many of these responses from last year, so it’s possible that only a few kids had to be asked this out of those who applied for FA and were accepted.

I still stand by my initial belief that this e-mail is a good sign for those who got it - but not necessarily that it’s a bad one if you didn’t.

Good thinking.

Just to make sure-- IS there anyone here who is ABSOLUTELY SURE that he/she did NOT complete their forms and did NOT receive an email?

motion12345 and katydone seems iffy

ok on the common app, i said id apply financial aid, but I never even started the form on my chicago account. I never received an email. Is there anyone who is in my position who did receive one?

I think motion is in the same boat. My hunch is that since you didn’t turn in anything - they assumed you weren’t applying. I doubt it means you didn’t get in.

I indicated on my commonapp that I would apply for financial aid. I never started the form on my chicago account. I did not receive an email. By “didn’t complete” do you mean never started or partially filled the fin aid form?

Ummm…I didn’t start anything either, but I got an email…

I think it means “partially” - like you turned in CSS and not your tax returns, etc.

@ChairmanGuo: Really? Everyone else seems to have started at least…

Then I guess it is settled…

I didn’t turn anything in. Didn’t even touch the chciago fin app. I literally did nothing and they told me to send the profile, copy of tax returns and the Chicago app.

so chairman, you didn’t even click the start new app button on the website?

Would they be this blatant?

Please, those of you who didn’t get e-mails, don’t worry about it. It could just be the finaid acting ahead of time!!!

I applied EA and selected to apply for financial aid. But never submitted anything. I got the email today. I wish it is true that this email was sent to those who got accepted.
