@ABnegative No Im probably not going to MITES over RSI. Hope you all get in!

@WxNation
Wow, congratulations! RSI is a freaking AMAZING accomplishment and program. RSI and MITES take place at the same time and place so you can still see all the kids who get in from here XD

I’m also waiting to here if I was accepted in MITES but I am really worried because I had low PSAT scores. I did have a lot of EC’s and I think I had good essays though

MITES seems far more concerned with how you rank relative to the rest of your grade (with more leniency if you’re from a highly competitive district) than with your SAT/PSAT scores.

I have a pretty good class rank (15/460) so this might make up for my PSAT.

I’m a white female but neither of my parents graduated from college and we have a lowish income. Do I still have a chance?

@Ginnymills if you’re low-income and would be the first to go to college in your family, yes, I’d figure you have a chance if you have good grades.

Ahhhhhhh I’m so nervous. A few of the applicants are in the QB facebook group and talking with each other just makes us a lot more nervous. It’s also nerve-wrecking because I want all of us to go but probably only three or four of us here would be accepted…

@Apendoatis My rank dropped to 92 out of 1082 so I hope they are more lenient with my rank since I come from a highly competitive school.

@emywemy610 Fingers crossed, I suppose! Imo top 10% (which you do have) is pretty good for a competitive district. Our district doesn’t do rankings, though I think they release percentiles.

We don’t do rankings either. But I have a perfect GPA so far so I might be one of the top ten? I don’t think grades matter as much for applying for this program as your personality, though. Let’s all hope for the best…

@Nobody426 I was in that group too! I probably saw your comment then :P.

Hello guys. I have also applied to MITES. I’m like dying to find out. How are you guys holding up?

Does anyone know when the results will be sent for MITES this year?

Nahh, but I’m so nervous… honestly I don’t think I’ll get in. If I don’t I have a couple of offers to intern at startups. So most likely, if I’m not at MIT for the summer, I’ll be in San Francisco. Good summer, regardless!

Interning is still a great experience! I’ve found a mentor to work on a project with at a local college, but I realized the main reason why I want to go to MITES or another summer program instead is because I’ll be working with a lot of students that are my own age. And theres a focus on collaboration, rather than just individually doing research!

Plus, living away from home for a while is always fun. :)

@GregB777 results will likely be out around April 10-12, at least as discussed a couple pages earlier in this thread.

Did anyone else apply to CMU SAMS?

@cps2015 yes, did you?

@cps2015 I applied! Did you?
