I doubt it, another way to think about it is that the people who needed 6 didn’t do a good enough job of articulating their life story in their first 5 essays lol.

And when I took abnormal psych we mainly focused on experimental results lol, Jung is crazy in my opinion.

@Apdenoatis I wouldn’t worry about the 6th essay much. All your credentials seem really good; I just wished I talked about my art passion a little more now so it would differentiate me from the others. But I did put Art club in my activities and hopefully they’re consider my AP Art class on my transcript.

So how many people on here are Asians? It seems like there is quite a bit. And I’m pleasantly surprised that there are so many artist here! I myself prefer acrylic and we just started this pointillism unit in our class, so I think markers are fun too.

I’m so anxious to hear back from MITES. Fortunately I got accepted to SSP so I will be doing something awesome this summer! I think I would rather go to MITES though…

Is SSP also at MIT? Or is that the Harvard one?

And does anyone think that the results will come out by friday? Or do you think MITES is gonna cut it close? Because, on the 22nd, that’s the day before I take my ACT, so if I don’t get accepted, it would really bum me out for the test. If I get rejected, I’d prefer it be on Friday so then I have the weekend to recover XD

I don’t think it’ll come out tomorrow :/, I think they’re going to cut it close. Like, you know how when you’re late somewhere and call up and say “sorry for being late, will be there in 10 minutes” when it’s more like 15 minutes away? This is what I think the circumstance is. (From their point of view, a small office for over 2000 apps is kind of a lot of work to deal with).

@parentofutahboy Yep they are sent at the same time. Basically you just get an email telling you to log into your portal and once you log in you find out whether you got into MITES, E2, MOSTEC, or denied.

I just took the ACT on the 12th! They said scores will start to be released on the 21st and that’s really soon. It took a while for the one in December. If my dreams come true this week then I will get into MITES and get a 34. Ugh I just want MITES to tell us already.

@emywemy610 I also took the ACT on the 12th, but I’m just hoping for a 32 since it was my first time taking it. Are you sure about that date? The 21st seems very early, especially if you took it with writing.

As decisions get closer I just feel obligated to throw in a plug for E2 and MOSTEC!
If you do get these two programs, DON’T look at them as “consolation prizes” for MITES. They have a selection committee for all three programs and you are matched with the program they think is best for you, they don’t just award MITES to all the “best” people, and move down a tier for E2, or so on. All three programs are very different, according to the OEOP staff we talked to, and E2 at least is not “watered down” in ANY WAY. In fact, according to the E2 staff( who, admittedly, might have been trying to make us feel better), E2 is the most rigorous of all three because it’s basically MITES crammed into a week(we have the SAME amount of counseling sessions and lectures as the six-week MITES people!) One guy who attended E2 and TA’d for MITES said he’s glad he went to E2 and not MITES :).

The other kids at E2 were hands-down the most amazing kids I’ve ever met, and swept the table in the admissions game this year. ;)

@luckystar888 thanks best of luck to you also!! My school does a bit of ACT practice but I need to do more and haven’t oops. I am more concerned about AP tests since you can’t retake them.
