Morrill Scholars Program 2015

Another issue I’m confused about on the website… it says “If you checked “YES” indicating your interest for the Morrill Scholars Program and you provided an essay response to the question, your Common Application is forwarded to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion after the admissions decision is complete.” it also states on the website that people who apply before Nov 30th receive priority consideration but my admission decision did not come until the middle of December… So am I considered for priority consideration because my application was turned in before Nov 1st but my decision was not until December.

@Texas2Ohio‌ I just found a page on the OSU website that states the exact day decisions are released.

http://odi.osu.edu/scholarships/scholarship-services/morrill-scholars-program.html

I heard that last year, (and I found this out from the past MSP forum, so y’all can take a look if you want), that people who qualified for Distinction were told in the email that they had moved on to the next round of consideration…but, this year, it seems that the ODI is doing things differently. @Jalaquan, I would call and ask about the next round of consideration. I’m rooting for you for distinction!

@Texas2Ohio‌ I did the same thing! I went through the past forum and saw that they were told that they moved on in the email, and I, too, also came to the conclusion that there is something different going on this year. I will call them in the evening of tomorrow( I just emailed them, so I will see if they respond by email first).

Thanks! I hope we both get the distinctions! I hope you get good news the next time they send out notification( Dec 23rd).

OMG! I’m so happy! I got the Prominence. Omg is this real?

Anyways I got the email notification today

You got it today? I thought they were going out tomorrow?

Also, what are your stats?

Yeah I thought so too but I randomly checked my email and I got it!

@Jalaquan‌ On the email, it says that I’m eligible for the Distinction so I guess it applies to you as well. Good luck!

I have a 29 ACT. 4.352 GPA and top 2%

I think my strongest aspect of ny application was my essay.

@Jay2631 the email that your referring too, it that osu or personal email?

I linked my osu email with my personal email so I got it in my personal email

How do you check your OSU email if you haven’t linked them?

@Jay2631 I’ve never been able to get the @osu.edu email account to work. I just submitted a IT service request.

I got a packet along with my decision letter in November and it came with instructions on how to link them.

Hi everyone, I applied for the Morrill scholarship as well and I am trying to access my OSU email account. I have my email and stuff but I can’t seem to log in? It’s lastname.#@osu.edu correct?

I got the below response from tOSU IT Services.

The reason you’re unable to access Buckeye Mail is because you do not currently have a Buckeye Mail account. When you activated your OSU account you selected to have your OSU e-mail (*@osu.edu) forward to a personal account, therefore no Buckeye Mail account was created.

If you would prefer to read your OSU e-mail through the Buckeye Mail system, you can activate your Buckeye Mail account and set *@osu.edu to forward there from our Account Management website:
http://my.osu.edu

Once there you will need to log into the site using * and your current password. This is the same password you use when you log into Carmen or your Student Center. Once you are logged in on the left side of the page you will see a link that says “Change Email Delivery”. Click on that and on the next page you will select Buckeye Mail and click the Submit button. On the next page you will then need to click OK. Your change is complete when you see a green check mark on the screen and it states your email delivery has been successfully changed.
After activating Buckeye Mail you will need to wait at least one hour to access the account. After one hour visit buckeyemail.osu.edu and log in using your Buckeye Mail email address as your username (*@buckeyemail.osu.edu) and the same password you use when you log into Carmen or your Student Center.

Congrats man! Happy that you got the scholarship, but also a little heartbroken knowing that I was once again, not chosen.

Same. Life is looking dismal right now…

Not all scholarships are out yet! There are still more and I hope you get them. Good luck! :)>-

Received personal e-mail that I got Prominence Award! Very happy! @Jay2631 it said in the same email that yoŕe moving on to distinction? Oh well, mine didn’t…I guess that means I just got the Prominence, but I should still be happy for that lol.
