I don’t want to screw it up and update it - so the next time someone else does it they can add that last year’s incoming class at Western University was 9 boys & 6 girls.

I see from this list, which I just came across, that my daughter needs to apply at a LOT of schools for MT! Those numbers are discouraging…I guess she really needs to have several safety, lesser known programs also. I feel this is going to get very expensive to apply at these schools plus go to auditions, etc. I will need to make it a full time job it appears…She is a sophomore now so next year is our beginning but wow better start making a list NOW! Any advice?? We are east coast (Maryland)

*****Numbers reported from Chris Anderson, Director of Admissions, NYU, email dated March 2015
I am confused by 3 things on the list on this thread:
I understand the initial list on the list is 2014 data and it says some are updated. Not sure how one can tell which are updated and which are not (might “2015” next to updated ones help?)
I understand that the second list on the list is 2012 data and it says again, some are updated. Again, not sure how one can tell which are updated and which aren’t (would noting “2015” next to updated ones help?) In fact, the most recent list posted has March 2015 data for NYU, but it is under the “2012” list and might come across as old information, for example.
I’m not understanding why next to NYU, it states that the total number accepted to yield the class is unknown when for the majority of the schools listed, the number accepted is NOT listed either, and just the number of slots in the class is listed. Wouldn’t it be best to keep a consistent way of listing such information? Just a thought.
Since Soozie mentioned technical questions, how do you edit other people’s posts on here? I noticed a few weeks ago that a person posted something, and then it was edited by someone else. I’m not sure I would want someone else editing my posts. Are we notified when that happens?

I think the original topic of this thread would have been useful if it hadn’t turned into an extended debate over NYU… Looking back at @Divamamacita’s suggestion, can we agree to keep it a general sharing of what we know about admissions rates? Many, many of us have little or no interest in the direction this thread has taken. Please!
I agree with you @Times3. I think that threads that are “lists” of data that are updated, should keep to that. Discussion of a topic should have its own thread. I see this happening on other “list” threads, including the Acceptance threads. What happens is that someone asks questions and starts a discussion and then others reply. It is much better to ask these sorts of questions on their OWN thread.
I also think that providing information is the intent of this thread, and not speculation. And when speculation or misinformation is posted, it is a natural tendency to try to correct the information.
