Is she hoping you’ll live at home while going to college to lower the cost? I would send in the appeals to accommodate her asap, but mentally you are right to move on.

@booper I think I may sense some narcissism in her because she’s always trying to compare me with other people in other topics.
I’ve talked more with her and now she’s starting to open up a little bit about SJSU and UCSC but still not UCI. Seems like she wants me to stay nearby. Both SJSU and UCSC are great schools for getting into silicon valley through the research that I’ve done. She still wants me to write that UCD appeal badly over my UCB appeal.
@memphinx UCSC is a good school, as is SJSU. As others have said here, it’s clear from your writing and your thoughtfulness that you’ll do fine at any college you attend – outcomes have much more to do with what you put into your college experience than with the name or resources of the school. Go ahead with the appeals if she’s insisting, but to reinforce what others have said, they’re not going to succeed. And you’ll be more than fine anyway. Best of luck to you!
