Absolutely agree.
They DO NOT contact other schools.
Hi! What did you think of the London campus? Presumably your daughter is from the US? So, the plan is three years in UK, get a degree from UK, then one year NU Boston, get a degree from NU Boston - correct? Is there a “study abroad” that would allow for UK students to study in Boston? We intend to visit the UK campus soon. How were the accommodations and how are the classes? Is it relatively safe? How many students are from the US? How many students total? So many questions! TIA.
Also - applicant is interested in how may US students and how many students total there are? Is it easy to get the classes you need? Also wondering, coming from a US high school system, if there is a disadvantage to the three year UK program? TIA.
Question - daughter was deferred during Early Action. She chose Regular Decision. The portal updated to say Regular Decision but still says “Decided” under Status. Thoughts???
the personal statement is just the main 650-word essay on the common app, or your “college essay” to be specific
My daughter’s looks the same and she was also deferred and chose RD.
Deferral is a decision.
She won’t hear until 4/1
Where did you see the financial aid offering? My daughter is an early action accepted student and we haven’t seen it yet. Wondering if we’re looking in the wrong place.
It should be right under the acceptance letter on the portal.
Thanks! I guess it’s just not ready yet. Should probably reach out and ask about it. Hoping it brings the price down.
For my son, there was a link that did not open as they had not completed the financial aid ( they asked for more information). Once they completed it, the letter was there.
Anyone have any answers regarding this?
You might want to join one of the NU Parent Facebook groups. There is a general one and here is one for London parents.
I’d call them and be sure they have everything. If you submitted everything earlier, the FA should have been in your portal, so they must be missing something.
Thanks. That’s what I was thinking.
Hi, I am not too familiar with the NU London Program but I found this little excerpt on their website. About Us | Northeastern University London
“Experiential opportunities, which are credit-bearing and co-designed with partners in
industry, community, research, and education, will offer the possibility of gaining real-world and international experience, while working towards a degree.”
While not totally clear on if they work the same co-op system, it definitely seems like experiential learning in some manner takes place. I also know that it is a 3 year program to a get a degree in London so that could be a potential pro depending on what you are looking for. I definitely recommend checking out their website and reaching out to your admissions counselor for additional info!
Coming back to report that my D23 was accepted a few weeks ago, but to the Oakland campus. She does not have any interest in attending there and did not note she would consider other programs or campuses, like many others. So, Northeastern is out! Good luck everyone!
I assume they expect a low yield, although truthfully I think they have no idea.
They are expecting a low yield. But the Mills/Oakland campus has space for a larger yield if that happens.
