My son is really intrigued by what they are offering at Mills. I think we are going to visit and consider it.
Me too, please share your though here if visit.
Sure!
My DS, who was accepted to Oakland got an email today indicating that for students who enroll at NU Oakland for fall of 2023 can transfer to Boston after 1 year. The sticking point is Oakland is guaranteed housing for 4 years (unless co-op takes them outside Oakland), but if you transfer to Boston you are only guaranteed housing for one year (sophomore year).
DS had been ruling NU out because Oakland is farther than he wanted to go. But this change has put NU back in the mix
My ds got the same email. I wonder how that works around coops.
The earliest you would do a coop is second semester of sophomore year.
anyone got the same email for London?
Actually I believe this years incoming Boston class is only guaranteed 2 years of housing. They have a housing crunch so they aren’t offering 4 yr housing guarantee anymore. Someone can apply, but not guaranteed
Ah OK. Didn’t realize that!
This communication seems to have come kind of late, no? What if student decided no to 4 years in Oakland and committed/paid deposit elsewhere? Did they offer it to London 4 years too? Just odd that it came so late.
We won’t hear about the rest of DS’s applications until end of March. I suspect lots of kids are in the same boat, so in that respect it’s not really “late”
We got the email too- Oakland! My son is very excited.
Obviously, it would have been better if they had said this from the outset, but it seems like they are listening to accepted student concerns and responding. I also think it’s a sign that they will really invest in the Oakland campus because their yield will be much higher than originally expected. They are going to want to make Oakland appealing enough for students to stay after the first year so everyone doesn’t come to Boston, where the campus is already crowded enough!
NUIN locations are out
on the portal?
On the NUIN website
Thought Australia was coming back but I guess not
Here is a link to the NUIn locations.
The Sydney and Melbourne locations were popular, but the reversed seasons were an issue. NU In students were there from July through October.
London is no longer an NU In site!
Such a bummer about London. COE choices seem so “meh” to me. But I’m just the mom!
Is there a place that summarizes where you can do COR or do you just click on each link and find out which programs are offered there? I’m traveling today, so will have to wait till later if I need to do that.
