I’m applying with one year at an LAC in NY and two years at CC so I’ll probably be considered a CC applicant since most of my courses were taken at CC and I’m currently a student in CC. I expect an outright rejection mainly because of my average HS GPA (3.4) and SAT scores (1900/1080) even though that was three years ago.

I’m applying from DePaul University in Chicago. It’s ranked #136 by USNews, nothing special. I have been accepted by Vandy and NU is the only other school I have applied to. If I get into NU as well, it will be a very difficult decision but definitely a predicament I’d embrace.

I’m applying for sophomore standing from a Boston LAC that’s ranked in the the top ten

I applied late March, but I still haven’t received any email on whether all my documents were sent and whether my application is now under review… is there something wrong or am i being too impatient? lol

Applying from a four-year top 50 university…
i believe most of us didn’t get anymore emails than the receipt. I believe they started reviewing apps after we send out final grades… good for me though

@Kusuri: Wait, I received two e-mails…I received a receipt confirmation in march and then an email saying my app was “complete and under review” in mid-April…

^ Yeah. Two days ago I received a confirmation that my application was complete, too.

Oh really… Thanks for pointing that out and maybe I should check my spam folder or ask them if anything is missing…

how long did it take you to get that email? I applied over two weeks ago and haven’t gotten any emails yet… wondering if I should call

Actually, Northwestern certainly took its time with everything. I submitted the Common App in mid February (suuuuper early, I know), I received the receipt confirmation on March 30, and the final message for “review” I received April 15. I wouldn’t freak out about it, especially if you only recently turned in your application. Their system is rolling and things take some time. I applied over two months ago so it makes sense that I’ve received all of these things. Hopefully I will be getting the decision soon also!

I don’t want to freak you out or anything, but I submitted the Common App on April 20th and received both the confirmation of submission and the e-mail stating that my app was under review by the morning of the 22nd.

^

Same with me. My app was submitted in late October and I received the receipt two days later.Just as well, my app file was complete in mid April and I received the confirmation email the day after the final required document joined my file.

^Late October…OMG
Going to email the admissions anyway cos if they require anything after I come back home it won’t gonna be easy…

Hi, guys. I was wondering if applying for financial aid affects transfer students to NU?

1 hour until people can no longer apply for transfer. The suspense for the decision letters is going to kill me. I applied transfer to U of Illinois UC and was accepted. Planning to go there unless I make it into Northwestern which would be amazing if I was accepted.

Has anyone ever been admitted before submitting spring final grades?

I’m sure they have to be. Quarter system schools aren’t even close to being done with school until june.

I applied to NU, and I’m nervous about my credentials:

HS:
4.0 UW GPA
29 ACT (Taken Fall 9th grade)
1490 SAT (V+M)(10th grade)
Class President, Varsity Letters in Football, Wrestling, Scholastic Bowl, Math Team (Won 2nd place 2-person team), Relay For Life, Giving Power to Adolescents, Baseball JV

Went to College at 16 years old to a T1 LAC:

Swim Team, Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Certified Sex-Ed instructor, Community Service

and here’s the part I’m worried about… 3.0 GPA first semester,
will finish this semester with 3.5, bringing my cum. to 3.28 (I have more credits this semester)

However, I am taking rigorous classes:
Fall:
Linear Algebra
Mechanics
Lit. & Comp (not the course name, but w/e)
Intermediate Spanish
Ensemble (played Viola de Gamba)

Spring:
Vector Calculus
E+M
Lit. & Comp.
Microeconomics
Intermediate Spanish

I have a stellar LoR from a Harvard Professor and a Legacy (my dad went to NU), so maybe it will give me a second look.

I really want to get in, but my GPA kinda sucks…

Calm down. Were you at harvard? NW only looks at students with over 3.0 gpa which you have. You have strong high school records. I think you’ll get in.

Calm down and I believe you should find a seperate thread… this is kinda what other transfer threads do. They have a sepaerate transfer thread…
and Your credentials is really strong in fact… everyone have some kinda drawback on their portfolio
