@Hockeyboy540 did the friend get an email?
I don’t have an update from him yet. Hold up.
Hey guys, I also received an email from the financial office asking me to accept my award package. I have checked my Portal and got no decision yet.
Wow! Ok, hoping they release tomorrow!
Or tonight! Will you let us know if anything changes?
bruh, maybe someone in financial aid/admissions office really did mess up. results can’t be too far away if this is happening to multiple people, esp. if its also occurring to those who aren’t on CC.
I’ll post if my portal changes. Right now I’m thinking either the financial aid office sent out emails a day early, or they made a mistake and sent the emails randomly.
Hi all! I am still waiting on a decision (Weinberg, current freshman, waitlisted last year) and in all the chaos of everything that’s been happening, realized I never finished off and submitted my CSS profile. Will that screw up my chances or will it just mean that if I get in, I won’t have aid for the first semester or two? Or will they let me submit it this late b/c of all the chaos?
@heyitslainey You should still get aid. Just submit ASAP, and I would email them too. If you don’t get the aid you desire after your decision, just write a very thorough appeal letter explaining how amid the chaos of COVID-19, you forgot to submit your CSS. I was in the same situation and missed the deadline for one of my other schools, and my appeal letter got approved. So I wouldn’t worry. They should be understanding
Hoping they release today!!
Fingers crossed!
Chance me please:
Entering sophomore from T40 private college
Applied as a physics major for Weinberg
SAT: 1520 (790 math, 730 ebrw, 22/24 essay) SAT II: 800 math II, 800 physics
Did not apply for FA
36 credits: Chem I B+, Chem II A- (mt), Chem lab (B+), Multivariable B, Linear algebra A (mt), physics I B+, physics II A- (mt), Physics lab B+ (mt), freshman lit B+, writing seminar P (mt), learning theory A (mt), topic seminar P, Eco evo A (mt)
EC’s: on a D1 sports and am nationally ranked in my sport (NU doesn’t have my sport).
Work experience: internship for 3 summers working w/ an insurance company and also secured a research internship at a hospital this summer.
HS GPA was about a 93-94 (out of 100). 7 IB courses and 2 APs.
Recs: got one from my lit prof which I know will be outstanding. I know that I only got a B+ in the class but this prof was adamant about not giving A’s and said that would be mentioned. Other rec is from my physics prof which will be decent but nothing personal. Also got a rec from my boss from the 3 years as an intern which I know will be very good.
Worried about the amount of B’s I’ve gotten this year. Hoping admissions is able to look past that since I overloaded w/ credits and was on a D1 team which is a huge time commitment.
@boomeranggecko No one really knows here, hopefully, you have a good chance because we’re pretty similar applicants lol (same major too). Hopefully, everything works out, best of luck!
@Eeteeswhateetees thanks!! I hadn’t even thought of appeal letters, I appreciate your response. Are you a prospective transfer student?
Did anyone else get the aid email? I hope another wave comes out today at 5:21!
Also thank you to everyone commenting and contributing to this thread. It’s keeping me alive, checking back to see everyone else wondering just as much as I am!!
@djkffjjjds same, I don’t know what I’m gonna do if I don’t find out in this wave
Me too, I’m gonna lose a good amount of money if I get in later.
not to put this energy into the universe, but what if they don’t do a wave at all today? is there any chance of that considering there’s two weeks till may 15th?
It’s definitely a possibility, but I think it’s pretty unlikely given that people were getting emails from the aid office yesterday
