How many waves are there typically?
It’s almost always 5:21. If we don’t hear past 6 central it’s almost def not happening.
Looking at the past, anywhere between 6-4 waves are typical. They have almost always been weekly with a few biweekly releases excluding last year. Last year, they released super early (4/3) and they did it biweekly until late June.
I hope they stick to mid-May.
@heyitslainey yes I am! I’m applying as an incoming junior. Another thing I forgot to mention was that I called yesterday, and they told me they just started looking at my financial aid. So if this is true for most students, you still have time!
@s3annnnn If they do biweekly cycles, then our second wave of decisions will come May 7th, and the third wave will come May 21st. But they said all students should receive a guaranteed decision by May 15 on their website. Wouldn’t that mean decisions may come out today?
I feel like there will be a wave today, assuming everyone will receive a decision by May 15.
So I called about the financial aid email and it seemed Northwestern did mess up and send out random emails. I’m not sure if it meant anything about decisions.
I would say it’s pretty likely that it will come out today but of course this is all speculation. Maybe they’ll only do 3 big waves this year, who knows. Everything seems to be different this year anyways.

It is hard to say whether or not we will get a round of decisions today. Everything has been out of the ordinary. I would just plan on hearing sometime before the end of May.
Applied to about 20 schools and have only heard from two, Cornell and Georgetown – both of which I am extremely grateful I was admitted into.
Eager for Northwestern as it is one of my top choices.

decisions were out ~6:20 pm last week so maybe we can be hopeful until then?
