congrats mea! it's definitely time to start PM/emailing/AIMing each other, start to get to know each other....cuz we're gonna be a family for the next 7 years lol (or at least the first 3 undergrad years)

hey aznstealth, are you definitely goin to HPME?

i really can't see why they don't email us. We spend hundreds of dollars to fly there to the medical school and they dont have the decency to notify us quickly. Rochester, on the other hand, was very professional, notifying us by overnight FedEx.

By the way people, they send a really small envelope with like 2 pages in it, (i thought it was a rejection...)
it's sent through regular first class mail so that's why it takes a while.
I hope you all get in as well!!!

hey guys, i got this really strange e-mail from Eve Veis...

[From: Eve Veis eveis@northwestern.edu

Subject: Visit to Medical School

Dr. Spies I are planning for you to visit the medical school on an
afternoon during the month of May. This year we also have several HPMEs
from the class ahead of you helping plan it.

Please let me know which of the following dates would work out for you,
giving me your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices.

Friday May 6
Thursday May 5
Friday May 13

We will choose the one when most of your class can attend.

Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.
Eve Veis
Coordinator HPME

PS In case you have moved since spring break, please give me your new address.]

I haven't gotten any official notification from HPME yet, it should be in the mail tomorrow (i live in jersey)

Did anyone else get this e-mail? What does it mean???

Hey guys, congrats to you all..
One little correction though.
My friend got waitlisted to NW eventhough he had an HPME interview.
Guess it doesn't mean that much.
No mail here in NY

I'm in Wisconsin, and I got my acceptance letter today! I'm in a very good mood right now. But I'm really torn b/c I was also accepted to the Med Scholars Program at UW Madison. I really want to go to NW but it'd cost around 150 thousand more than Madison.

Regardless, it's a happy day :) I'm sure lots of people will get their letters tomorrow, so watch for that mailman!

hey melly grats to wisconsin to gettin to the elite 8 in ncaa tourny.. if they're this good next year i'd definitely want to watch a few of their games heh :)

Haha, it was actually UW Milwaukee (Cinderella team!) not Madison, but that was really unexpected- usually it's UW Madison. I gotta say that I'm glad you talked about bball- it's a good reminder that perhaps I won't be thinking about bio & medicine all the time for the rest of my life.

Haha, obviously i really don't care about college bball. And now that the Bucks suck I don't really care about NBA much either. All I have left are the Packers....

Hey you guys... congratulations on getting into the HPME.. I am acually only a sophomore in HS, but I had a question for u guys... I bet many of you have taken AP/IB test, and scored very well on them.. Will you guys be getting credit at Northwestern, like will you be able to skip certain undergrad classes, even though you are in an honors program...
