Northwestern HPME Part 1

i sent additional material to the HPME office, and it is definitely ok. What you send should help you, unless you make a fool of yourself with it or it doesn't portray you in a positive light. But definitely send it, rajpatel.

Does anyone know around what date they will let us know if we move on to the interview round?

Thanks a lot Buckwald. Just out of curiosity, what did you send in? I plan to send in one or two abstracts of research I have done (should I send both?), and an additional recommendation from a doctor I worked with. I am also very very involved in this business organization, I'd like to send a rec from my advisor. What should I do, and what did you do?

I sent my HPME application in early in November. I sent a poster from a project I worked on and had a doctor send HPME a rec for me, so I don't see why you shouldn't. Definitely send the business org. rec, they don't want 40 researchers and the business org. will show a different side of you. They are making their decisions fairly soon, so if I were you I would send it in rather quickly.

I second Bluefalcon. Buckwald or anyone else-- when do they let us know about the interview? My guess is early March.... :)

lol nope. You should find out in late january. They inform you of their decision on April 1st.

do u find out if u didn't get the interview too? lol....

yes you do

buckwald, is it ok to send additional essays portraying a different aspect of yourself other than interms of medicine?

whoooo just sent in my hpme app today. feels wonderful. cheers?

whightknight,

it is definitely all right to send essays portraying other aspects about you.

Does the Medical college get, see, and analyze all the information the undergraduate university does? Like does the medical college see your short statements, essays, and additional information from your undergraduate application?

Thanks buckwald. Is this officially known, or is it an insider's tip :) ?

Late January? Gosh thats early. Do you by any chance know the exact date of notification (of the interview) and of the actual interview? I thought the interview was in April... but hm..

Interview is in around February 20th. It has come ot my understanding that 2 years ago the kids found out in late january, but last year they only found out 1 week before the interview.

what the heck... one week notification of the interview? getting a ticket and getting all the necessary arrangements ready in that time is bit ... well , mean :(

hopefulyl they give us perhaps TWO weeks even heh
