hey buckwald,
thanks for all the valuable information you have posted about Northwestern's HPME. i am a junior in colorado and i wanted to know if there is anyone in colorado who is Northwestern HPME alumni. i also wanted to get some tips on what kind of questions they ask students who qualify for the HPME interview. thanks!

I applied to HPME, but I'm feeling kind of nervous. Could someone post some feedback on my chances?

I read in a previous post that the undergrad app isn't really considered during HPME selection, which distresses me because the essay that I wrote about tied in to why I wanted to be a doctor. For fear of being repetitive, I didn't include it in my personal history essay. Will they at least read the undergrad application?

Thanks for any help!

hey ur chances look spectacular! of course, buckwald is the expert on hpme, but i would seriously doubt that they really don't consider the undergrad app...... so ur saying u didn't write about a particular experience in ur hpme personal history, right? i wouldn't worry about it, seeing as how ur stats are so solid. good luck!

asterstar,
your stats look great, and while you probably should have repeated whatever you wrote your essay on in your personal history since it is important and has effected you personally, I can definitely see you as interview material and you can express that activity more effectively at the interview.

huggiebear115,
i am sorry, I do not know any HPME alumni from Colorado. However, if i get asked for an interview, I would be more than glad to share my interview questions and responses with you. You can IM me, if you have any questions, my AOL screenname is SilverWarrior8.

you already got an interview for HPME?

no, you find about about an interview in Mid-February and the interviews are 1 week later.

Hey Guys,
I've been following this site off and on for a while now. You all have awesome stats and everything. Well, I called today to check the status of my application (all materials in, etc) and they said they sent out my interview invitation yesterday. So good luck.

1550/800/800/790

PS
I sent my application 1/1/05

who did u call? the hpme office or feinberg or what?

I believe Honors Program. The number listed on the instructions for the application.

i know most of u are probably more worried about ur own interviews/applications these days, but if someone has a little bit of time, i'd love it if u could tell me if i have chances at HPME: :)

I'm a bit worried, cuz i'm not on any school team, and I've noticed that a lot of ppl on this site seem to have some sort of official school athletic participation...will that affect my application a lot?

Thanx !

~ Anita

yea, ur stats look great! don't worry about lack of athletics--most of us do that for relaxation.....haha, just make sure u have something that seems to indicate that you are human, u know? lol. good luck!

did everyone else get the interview? :) I did~

Lmell, you got an HPME interview card?

Hey buckwald,

Thanks a lot for all your helpful information. I was wondering if there are any other schools that have an HPME program pretty similar to Northwestern's. I also know that Rice and Michigan have the program but I couldn't find details on their website. Could you help me out? Thank you!
