@wneely16 you think 2nd round of calls is coming today?
@403320 It could come today, or tomorrow, but if it hasn’t begun by Wednesday, I’d be very surprised
While I do not know this for certain, I’m assuming people that were offered from the waitlist that didn’t apply for financial aid are probably given shorter deadlines to decide. I’m not even sure if the people that did apply for financial aid from the waitlist have been given their aid package yet and thus can’t make a decision.
I can attest to @GraceDad 's point. I have not seen my financial aid package, and thus have not committed yet, even though I plan on it. The deadline to commit is May 16, so, I wouldn’t expect the next round of calls to start until then.
@IvyHopeful98 I didn’t know that the deadline was May 16 - I thought I heard somewhere on this thread that you guys were given a week to decide, but if you haven’t even gotten your fin aid yet, that’s evidently not true. Thanks for the info
Deadline for me is also May 16,ive already gotten the financial aid tho.
Same here…
For those who have received it, how does financial aid compare to expected family contribution?
how are internationals notified?
The admissions office has told our ASC representative not to expect a final list till after the 16th, so I think its possible they may go back to the waitlist.
And thank you @wneely16 for your remarks. I believe that the Notre Dame family has less to do about where you went to school, and more about being supportive of each other.
So, hopefully this means they are not finished accepting from the waitlist!! Lots of prayers being said!!! Good luck to all!!
Looks like I was definitely wrong on my initial guess about the second round of calls. I’m looking forward to May 17!
Also, is it a good idea to send ND my final transcript? I have a 85 in Calc, and I’m concerned that the transcript will hurt more than help - though I am signed up to take Calc again at the local community college, which could help my case somewhat.
I heard from someone on this thread that ND no longer wants updates after May 1 - is this true, or untrue? Are they still open to hearing new things? I do have some things I’m going to add on with the transcript I send (if I send it).
Keep holding on, guys - I have a good feeling about May 17.
hey all, I myself am still a sophomore in high school (with high hopes of ND) but my brother applied this year and was deferred and than wait listed. I was so upset for him- big family there- my dad, grandpa, and many of my dad’s siblings and other relatives. Anyways, like many of you, we have been going to games forever, and I can’t imagine him anywhere else. He has spectacular grades- he is in almost all AP classes, double AP sciences, close to perfect GPA, extracirriculars/volunteering, and his sport is huge for him. We also go to an extremely competitive public school. He is going to Carnegie Mellon as of now (partly because of his sport), but I am really hoping ND will pull through! I just can’t see why they wouldn’t have accepted him! he wants to be an aerospace engineer
also had great ACT!
@grad20182022 Sorry to hear that, man. I’m praying for your brother - it must be especially heavy for him, seeing as ND is so important to your family.
Did your brother send a letter to his admissions counselor? If he hasn’t yet, it’s not too late to do it, and it’s a great idea for him - people who have gotten off the waitlist in past years claim that the reason they made it was because they sent a letter declaring their interest in ND along with a grade/extracurricular update.
@wneely16 yes he sent numerous letters, updates, and had his guidance counselor contact many times!
@grad20182022 Awesome! His chances are as good as they can be, then. I hope for the best for him.
thanks! Good luck to you getting in as well! @wneely16
Committed last night. ND bound!
Good luck to everyone still waiting.
