NYU Class of 2022 waitlist

@Spark2018 just answering for the other guy, but my friend had stats below and near those and got nearly full

Has anyone heard from NYU today?

@Biyaoli see thats what i thought but then i went back through the threads and the “interest letter” seems to be sent to kids who did and didnt apply for financial aid. so im soooooo confused why they even send them.

Anyone else so lost about the whole process this year. Last year the “interest letters” were actually letters of interest and only the ppl who got those letters got in for the most part. A ton of ppl got in on friday last year all throughout the day. And almost no one got spring admission, everyone was pretty much given fall admission. They are so unpredictable to begin with they are wild. Im lost. Its so painful waiting its like should i even bother i have no clue if i even have a shot.

Everytime I get an email notification i scream. And everytime I open it its anyone but NYU. And even though this has happened 100+ times in the past week i still fall for it everytime. Best senior prank ever.

No reply yet from CAS, has anyone gotten anything? Also, does anyone know when the latest possible date is to receive a notification from NYU?

then let’s wait for next week TAT…

It says on their Waitlist FAQ that they will notify all students no later than August 1st, but I doubt itll be anywhere close to that date for the majority of wailisted students.

So next week right? :((

from reading all these posts and reading last years thread, here’s my theory. some people who didn’t get interest letters are getting in now for SPRING semester. a little later people who got the interest email will get in for fall term. or at least that was what happened last year.

Could it be that CAS and stern are at capacity and that is why we have yet to hear back from these schools…

the assumptions about the interest letter is not true. I have enough money to pay double the tuition they require, every year for four years of studies at NYU. And yet, I didn’t get a single interest letter or the offer.

Should I goto RPI and transfer to better school? or should I enroll NYU Spring term (if accepted) and transfer out?

@nursingmajor18 im the other nursing major on this and i also got a letter. You best update me when you find out!! Today was such a top ten anime death scene for me. Hearing nothing sucks. I wanna believe everything youre saying because it seems like everyone pretty much got in who got that letter. But that mom who keeps posting in this thread about her daughter getting a letter and then getting a fat rejection has resulted in major sleep deprevation and stress. Anyways just make sure to update me when you hear! best of luck to the both of us

@eyuncho so what are you saying. That the “interest” letter is only about financial stuff??

@20122638 I really doubt that it’s about financial stuff

THAT MOM here. Sorry for the insomnia. Just wanted to relay an actual case from last year to bring reality into the picture. Doing it again with my son this year. I know it is maddening. Good luck to everyone.

In what world is RPI not the better school ?

eyuncho, you have some of the most entertaining postings. 1/2 a mil banked and you are trolling on College Confidential. I just read all you posts and can only conclude you are having fun with everyone who is here to support and assist.

if you say so, but that defies most posted info on NYU. 1220, really, not that that is a bad SAT, but for a top tier school. and money to boot… why would the school pass on RD with much higher scores only to accept lower off the waitlist. And I have friends with those higher scored who they passed on too. Manhattan College, good, but not in the same league, or maybe they are and NYU is all hype. Every scattergram on Naviance or Cappex etc. must all be wrong. Lastly, at the NYU open house they told the financial aid audience point blank they give little or no merit. I thought I heard it wrong and asked for clarification. Loans yes, merit no so much like other schools. So not sure, beyond loans where all this money is coming from, much less for those accepted off the wait list.
