NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

Anyone know if NYU admissions work on weekends? wondering if I should bother checking over the weekend or not haha. 2 more weeks! good luck everyone

@sternhopeful2018 I highly doubt they do. I think most admissions offices only work on weekdays.

Good luck to you too!

I GOT THE FA CHANGE  I APPLIED TO STEINHARDT FOR MCC.

Is the FA change on the FAFSA page?

@NYUhopeful2018 It’s on the left on the Albert homepage, “Financial Aid Summary” under the heading “Financial Aid”.

Sorry, duplicate post. :expressionless:

Should I assume the worst if my FA still hasn’t changed? I applied to CAS from NJ

@secretparamour Absolutely not. As has been mentioned before, while there is a strong positive correlation between getting an FA change and an acceptance, there is none between not getting one and any decision.

@rhythms06 Thanks so much. I’m looking out for one, but it’s good to know that the correlation is not 100% :)

Is the FA change only for EA II or also regular decision?

Is there a significant amount of ppl who got the FA change and still got rejected?

@Kxtreme16 No, there wouldn’t be a significant amount or else there wouldn’t be a strong correlation of the FA change and an acceptance. Based on College Confid there are few people who did get rejected despite FA change, but there’s a must greater chance of getting FA change and getting accepted, OR not having FA change and getting rejected.

After I got the FA change, I gained access to my “Globesmart account” and on my profile I had an official NYU email. Does this mean anything??? Good signs = good news I hope?

^ I would assume that is very good news.

@satanonymous Does it say something like ######nyu.edu? Someone in ED I thread said that all applicants get that, it’s just your NYU Home id. If you email it, it comes back as an error.

wait
satanonymous, how did you find the globesmart thing? i want to see if mine works

Thanks @outonalimb for the clarification! do you know what time they’re sending out the decisions? or what time is the first wave? i know so far it’s coming on feb 14 haha

& is there a diff between no self-service and no award access? i feel like a lot of the ED I applicants got “no self-service” haha

@Kstreme16 Albert says 5 pm on Feb 14th, but that’s what they also said for ED I results, and they actually started sending emails out “pre-dawn” Feb 14th because they finished reviewing early.
I guess it depends on if they finish the ED II apps early and feel like sending the emails pre-dawn like they did for ED I.
I think that reject letters tend to come in waves during the early hours (dawn to morning) , and acceptance letters come some time after 3 pm.

omg
PREDAWN?! haha, let’s hope i don’t wake up to an email from NYU then b/c it seems like bad news.
