@satanonymous That’s so strange! Even if, theoretically, we are admitted students, I feel like that shouldn’t be possible until we accept the admission and are officially enrolled?

@satanonymous I checked the globesmart email thing and it said that it was created yesterday. I think it’s created the day we log on to the globesmart account. Just a theory tho

Wait can anyone without the fa change access the email account? Not trying to sound insensitive or anything but just trying to gather proof on this theory

@lyndak So you had the FA change, so at least that’s some good news.
Was the transcript that NYU received to review your app just your freshman-through-junior grades then?
And do you know if your high school sends midyear reports to colleges automatically, or do you choose to send them whenever? Because, to be safe with NYU ED2 admissions, you can send your required midyear transcript after Feb. 14th (but before March 1st) so they don’t see your awful grade drop during this hectic time (just in case the FA change doesn’t mean they’ve already reviewed your app and accepted you)
Just my opinion.

@satanonymous I think @NYUhopeful1 is right, I loggied into Globesmart two days ago, and it said the date the account was created was two days ago.

@NYUhopeful1 @outonalimb @satanonymous I checked this and you guys are right. The account is created the day you log in. It shows my email. For re-cap I have the FA change and I was able to log in successfully to my Globesmart account. My FA change was like a week ago though. Does the ability to log into globesmart actually mean anything?

I agree can someone with NO FA change try to log in and confirm this please?

@outonalimb They get set automatically. Will NYU be looking at my weighted GPA by any chance? Like I said, my weighted GPA had an upward trend. I’m taking the most rigorous course load that I have yet to take and since 4 out of 5 of my B’s were from AP classes, my weighted GPA is still a 3.85…

also, under application status, I now have “New Freshman” instead of First-Year Applicant… anyone else?

@lyndak I think you will be fine. I believe they look at unweighted GPA and still want to see a growing trend in grades, but of course they will definitely see that your weaker grades are in rigorous classes like AP’s and take in account the 'hectic’ness of senior year. (junior year should be much more important) Right now, at this moment already in February, I think you would be more worried if those grades dropped to C’s or low B’s, which be much more of a red flag

@chances1please I got that too. I’m not sure what it said before tho. Can anyone confirm it was something else before?

I can’t confirm that. I forget what it said before too… Can anyone without the FA change let us know what it reads on their status? Although, I for one am pretty sure it always said New Freshman.

Everyone’s eventually changes to New Freshman and won’t mean anything, this was discussed in the ED1 thread

And I think before it said “first year applicant”

and the global thing is also meaningless? It should be confirmed by someone with no FA change…

@chances1please Yea…I do not have the FA change and can log on to the globesmart thingy

@sternhopeful2018 What does your application status say? Does it say “New Freshman”?

To find this: Albert Login > Under the “Admissions Tab” go to "Application Status > Under “Admit Type” it should say something. What does it read?

@lyndak yes it says new freshman…honestly it may change to that once you log onto globesmart. Not sure though…

@sternhopeful2018, can you access the NYU email?

@NYUhopeful1 can you give me instructions on how to do that? Bit confused sorry haah

Yea sure lol after you get in to the globesmart account, go to my settings and the email should be in there. Edit it and change your password because there is probably an automatic one. And then try sending an email to yourself through it and see if it works.
