@NYUHopeful1 uh do you mean send an email to my NYU one? I don’t see an option to compose an email from my NYU email in globesmart. Sorry if I am asking stupid questions :(

Oh lol it’s okay it’s not a stupid question. Use that email to log on to mail.nyu.edu

i got the fa change and the email thing isnt working for me…

@NYUhopeful1 When I try to log into the email, it just says that the request could not be processed at this time… oh well.

I don’t know why it worked for me and some other people. Ugh NYU is like leading us on and giving us mixed signals lol

@NYUhopeful1 I tried to figure out the directions your gave previously to do this, but I’m confused. I got the FA change and want to check if it’s working for me.

@sternhopeful2018 @lyndak @NYUhopeful1 @outonalimb @chances1please @satanonymous

@(anyone else who I forgot or who sees this)

So far I:

-Didn’t apply financial aid-> Received financial aid change about a week ago (3 columns)
-This morning I noticed the New Freshman thing after reading a post here, but I think that could have been there a while ago and I didn’t notice until someone pointed it out, or maybe it did change today
-Today (just now), I figured out how to log into NYU classes and everything seems to be working well
-Today (just now), I logged into Globesmart and it says my account was created today
-Still can’t figure out how to write myself or anyone else an email from Globesmart
-Still unsure if any of these things from the portal mean anything about my decision
-Still anxious about my decision :/

Big question: Is the inability of sending an email using Globesmart a bad sign? I think @satanonymous or someone else said that the ED applicants who were accepted were all able to send emails? And the ones who weren’t did not get accepted?

I don’t think you’re supposed to be able to send an email from Globesmart. (Correct me if I’m mistaken because I’m confused as well.) I think you’re supposed to be able to send an email to the address you have on Globesmart from a outside email (such as your personal gmail/ymail/hotmail one). So far, I tried my personal email to send a test to my NYU email and it bounced back saying it did not exist.

Also, @stjohnson, what do you mean by “log into NYU classes”?

Additionally, regarding this mysterious financial aid theory, I would just like to add that the correlation seems to be very strong, but questionable as well. I spoke with an accepted ED I applicant for class of 2018 who had been participating in these threads and he said that only 1 student reported being rejected with the financial aid change but he only had 1 post so it could have been a ■■■■■/fake account that was trying to mess with people.

However, I still have some doubts. I read somewhere on this website that when people get rejected from a college, they usually don’t return to the thread or they don’t read in on the details as much, since they are likely upset or indifferent about what all the accepted students are saying and doing… perhaps the students who got the financial aid change but got rejected just never returned to the ED thread to report their findings about the financial aid change? After all, it is probably more disappointing when a student expects to have been accepted for a month but ended up getting rejected…

Don’t get me wrong, I would be ecstatic if this change theory is true, but who knows…

@lyndak if you google “NYU Home Login” and click the first or second link, log in with your ID and password, and you get directed to this site that seems to be the NYU online organizer/assignement/connection page (usually highschool teachers have an equivalent type of system). Sorry if I am confusing you but just follow the directions and take a look.

Alright so here are the steps to getting the email. Atleast it worked for me.

Go to home.nyu.edu

On the bottom left click on the GlobeSmart Login

On the top click My Settings

The email stated is your NYU email. Now click edit.

Delete all the *'s for the password and enter a new one.

Hit save

Go to mail.nyu.edu

Try to log in with that email and password
10, send email to someone or yourself to make sure it’s working

If it’s working be very ecstatic :)

Hope I helped

Okay wait for some reason my NYU stern email is working but not my regular NYU one

And now none of em. Must have been a glitch that made mine work

Agreed, it was probably just a glitch, bc globesmart wont work now either… (like the entire website is gone)

Also, I see the place where you can check your classes, but is it the place where the “workplace” and stuff are located? if so, then where are the available classes?

Tried sending an email to the address and it did not go through.

Globesmart let me log in yesterday, now it’s not letting me do that even… weird.

this happened to me, the globesmart link didn’t work consistently, sometimes it would let me on, and the other times it would say the page is not available

Well hopefully there was a glitch that allowed it for admitted students and we all got admitted (idealistic thinking)

So my stern email is still working but my NYU email is disabled for some reason :(
