Wow i’m so late, I just submitted my application in. :P

Oh and my GPA was 3.9 uw and 4.9 w

rogahen, your gpa is godlike, so of course you got in. I’m like the other way around

If I apply ED II and get accepted, am I required to attend NYU? I really want to go to NYU, but my main concern is paying for tuition. I come from a low-income family so I don’t think my family can afford to pay $50,000 a year. So if NYU doesn’t give me enough money, can I say “no” to them?

yeah, if they dont meet your needs. (and i think its more like 75,000 a year)

EDIT: and NYU itself states that if cost will a concern, then you should apply RD and not ED

Thanks. Wow! 75,000…that is… DAMN. Y u so expensive nyu.

“does anyone know if the guidance counsler has to sign the ED 2 agreement before Jan 1st? or can it be done afterwards? becuase i want to do nyu ed 2 but i have to wait until the 6th…”

I was wondering about that also lol^

Hey guys what if our teacher recommendations our submitted after the 1st. Is that okay? :S

Hey everyone… I just got into LSP ED I at NYU, and I just wanted to share a few things. I know what they say about it being binding, but it’s not. They will not and cannot force you to go there. Yes, it is custom to go there if you get in ED, however I was told by an admissions counselor that if finance is an issue (which it was for me) then you are not bound to go. There is still a “decline” button on the website that shows your admission. I know this is super stressful because I literally just went through it, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! (not that I know a lot)… Good luck!

This is part of the Common Application ED agreement that every EDer should have read:

@Zebrashorts I’m sure it would be okay, as long as it’s not too many days after jan 1st.

Whoever said that NYU is $75,000 is overestimating it a little. Yes it is very expensive but it is not 75k. It depends on your costs but i think it’s about 55 to 65.

I sent in my app yesterday for CAS. I’m not exactly how I feel. I think my essay was pretty great, and my stats are decent (not outstanding, but decent), and I also attended NYU precollege. I don’t know how strongly I feel about my chances though.
Does anyone know NYU’s expected acceptance stats?

@rogahen, my bad about that, i believe i was looking at NYU’s estimated expenses for international immigrants which says around 75K

Just submitted my app! AHHH I am so nervous!!! ^I applied to CAS as well; good luck to you too!

you too I’m not sure how many they are accepting though. :/

Happy new years guys! Only 46 days left until our fate!

Applied to Tisch School of the Arts for Filmmaking

GPA: 3.2 (UW)
SAT Superscore: 1800; Reading (610), Math (580), Writing (610)

Resume: I own my own freelance small business specializing in film production. I’ve worked (paid internship) with a well-known Disney Producer who works closely with the Disney TV Channel (about 15 hours a week editing and filming. My title is “Production Coordinator”). I am the president and floor manager of my school’s TV studio which broadcasts the morning announcements Monday through Friday. I also had an internship with a national college news station editing and filming interviews with various celebrities, notably Mario Andretti. My film submission was “portrait of a fisherman”: <a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube. My recommendations came from the Disney Producer and my TV Teacher. My essays were from-the-heart about how I will grow myself and my career thanks to NYU’s location, study abroad opportunities, and Wasserman Career Center. My other essay was on how I got to work with the Disney Producer and how it changed me.

So, yeah, I’m quite worried! I have a awesome portfolio but poor grades (compared to NYU’s average). NYU Tisch is absolutely the school for me, but odds are against me. Now I’m just hoping that Tisch will fight for me like they do with the Drama students :D

Guys if your fa changes then that means you were accepted. That’s what usually happens 2 weeks before the deadline

^ NYU is need blind, which usually means that Admission and Financial Aid are two separate non-communicating entities, so I’d be careful about the above assumption.
