NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

@vonlost: Yeah, I was accepted this year and my FA didn’t change until after I got accepted.

If you have an FA change, I would be cautiously optimistic. I remember the ED I discussion this year had the same debate. How it seemed to end up was that anybody who had an FA change was accepted, although there were some people who were also accepted despite the fact that they had not seen an FA change. So an FA change usually means good news, while no change could go either way.

^ Yeah, I dug really deep into the ED I discussions, and thats also the trend I saw

Yea that’s true I guess. And anyone know if NYU is need blind for international students?

Is it like much harder?

^^ Google found the answer in the first hit when searching for “NYU is need blind for international students?” (don’t include ").

Wait…how do we see if there’s a change in our FA?

@secretparamour I don’t remember the exact details, if you’re interested I would look at this year’s NYU ED I discussion, it went very in depth into the whole FA change thing.

@secretparamour Not yet. We’re still veeeeeeery early

Okay! I see. But I’m just wondering where that would even show. As in, does it show up on the CSS profile or FAFSA or…?

@secretparamour It shows up on your Albert account. Have you gotten an email with your NetID yet? If not, NYU should send one out soon. You can access their student portal called Albert and from there you can track your application and eventually accept your admittance there if you get in.

Yeah, but I don’t think NYU is sending us emails yet cause the admissions office apparently is closed until Jan. 6

^Yeah, because there’s gonna be a huge snowstorm today in NYC.

FA change is a good sign for sure…we (ED1) had heated debates on it and it turned out to be something really positive. Also check your app status a few weeks before the deadline. Program/campus changes can mean you were rejected to your first choice but accepted to your second/backup. That’s how a ton of people found out that they were LSPed early, some liked it some didn’t. I got in Stern with an decent SAT but a serial killer GPA. PM me with any questions. Enjoy the snow.

Peace,

Henry

@GuysImSerious Yeah, we may need to wait until mid to late next week for emails. NYU says to wait 3 weeks for them, but I doubt it would take that long.

oh ok  yeah, the storm is supposed to be bad tonight and tomorrow! I know NYU has been closed the last few days. So we will get an Albert account?
Ok, wishing everyone luck!! thanks :)

I just got an email that they received my application!

FA change is a good sign. But there are people who have the the change got rejected. But it’s better than nothing. Check it few weeks before the admission is out:)

@secretparamour when did u send yours in? I haven’t gotten an email.

Sweeeet, I just got my email too!
