NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

well then there is some correlation…

lel.

So what Avenger is saying is that its true most acceptances had FA changes, but its not true the other way around, the FA change could indicate acceptance or a rejection.

“most acceptances had FA changes, but its not true the other way around, the FA change could indicate acceptance or a rejection.” no offense but that was a contradiction.

How was that a contradiction? people who were accepted saw their FA change, but people who were rejected also saw their FA change (EDIT this is according to Avenger), thus doesn’t mean every person with the FA change gets accepted.

maybe you meant that NO FA Change could indicate an acceptance or rejection.,

Everyone needs to calm down. You can all believe what you want to believe in.

At the point where you say “most” and then you say “the other way around” and you indicate the negative of your first statement that means that your first statement is more true than the second, not the negative. Either way, im not willing to argue this I just want to enjoy the last few days of this terrible terrible wait :P

@lyndak I agree  We will (hopefully) all be family next year.

Ahh well less than 4 days left :o

Facepalm no that was not what I was trying to say, forgive me, English is not my primary language.
Trust me, I would LOVE it if the FA change is true and we leave this stress behind :)

@outonalimb I understand and I feel you! I’m Mexican :P

@NYUhopeful1 seriously… I would give up so many things in order to fast forward these 4 days D:

@outonalimb @chances1please @VioletAvenger I feel like no matter what anyone says (including myself or others such as Violet Avenger) we’ll never really know if this correlation is true or not. However, I do agree that there is strong evidence to support that many people who were accepted had an FA change and that it may also be true the other way around.

Fortunately for those of us who want, with all of our hearts, to believe that the FA change theory is true, there is ONE way we can refute Violet Avenger’s argument. Now, again, I will mention that this in no way means that my argument is flawless but, Violet Avenger said in his/her 3:37 post on page 55 that:

“We’ve discussed this at length in several Facebook threads and posts, and it’s been proven beyond a doubt that FA change does not correlate with acceptance.”

Note that he/she mentions that their information was acquired on Facebook through the group created for the NYU Class of 2018. This group is for ACCEPTED STUDENTS. Therefore, none of the discussions on Facebook would have included first-hand testimonies. Do you get what I’m saying?

IF it were to be “proven beyond a doubt” that the FA change theory is bulls__t, all of the information that was shared between those Facebook users should NOT be secondhand. How could ACCEPTED students know all this? Did all of their friends apply to NYU with them? Do they suddenly have admin access to Albert? At most it would be something along the lines of 100+ people saying, “Oh, my one friend applied and got the FA change but was rejected.” This is not accountable information.

So my point is: Violet Avenger’s argument (though it was convincing at times) is as equally unaccountable and refutable as our own FA change theory. Sorry, Violet Avenger! No points for you. :(

And like I just mentioned, this argument could as easily be used to refute our own FA change theory and that we’re getting a lot of our info from random CC users, but like I said previously, we can all believe in what we want. Screw what anyone else says! If we end up being rejected, then so be it.

Note: I read over this comment as soon as I posted it and edited it after noticing my confusing language/punctuation.

though there is dispute about the FA change meaning anything, I’m wondering whether access to Globesmart means anything. I have access and have been given an NYU email address too. Seems a little strange…

I have access to globesmart but no email … It might just be randy…

@sphink95 I believe the Globesmart doesn’t really mean anything sadly…

@lyndak You have a good point!

check under ‘My Settings’ at the top right- says my account was created on 8th Feb… it should tell you your email address

ah @outonalimb that’s a shame!

@lyndak Thank you for writing it out. I am smart enough to where I can easily see “trends” occur, and from the available data, there is a strong trend going on here. I also believe that trends aren’t laws and be have one or more outliers. Unless we definitely prove (ON my pledge thread! go do it pleasee) that this theory stands or falls then it will continue to be just that, a theory.
