Honestly I feel nervous about the idea that we’d be finding out our fate via email…
Apparently people (on the day of the decisions) can tell through Albert if they were accepted, prior to getting an email they get a tab saying “Accept/Decline”, and for some reason I would feel more comfortable finding out through Albert like that, than email.

Yeah, it would be slightly less intimidating. I’ll be so scared to check my email come Friday hahaha

@outonalimb I get a notification on my lock screen when an email comes. I think I might disable that function on my phone on Thursday night so that I can open my email up when I’m emotionally ready… I’m so nervous. I’ve never wanted something this badly in my life. Ever. D:

If accepted is it possible to change from off campus to on campus?

So when do they actually decide? The decisions are four days away. I think they have already been made

@lyndak haha Exactly! I’m really obsessing over this, but I’m wondering if this would work: I would see the NYU email, freak out and not open it, then search my email account for the keyword “congratulations,” or “acceptance” and if the NYU email doesn’t show in the search results, I would know my doom…

@Chubscout Yeah, i THINK they are done (or at least close to done, who knows maybe they are procrastinators haha), and there are only 4 days left so…

…what’s the deal with ED I results apparently coming out a few days ahead of schedule? does this happen every year?

@sphinx95 Yeah instead of Dec 15th they came out Dec 13th because Abbott said they were done reviewing early, and I believe there were fewer ED1 applicants than the past years, so fewer apps to read could be why.

Violet,
As a parent of two NYU students (class of 2012 and 2016) I have been on these boards for about 7 years. While there is no certainty to any theory, I have seen one post over the years of someone who said they saw the financial aid change and then got rejected. (And who even knows how truthful/accurate that is?)

However, an extremely high percentage of people with the change have gotten accepted. Yes, while it is not a guarantee, there is no reason for you to go on these boards and negate something as if you are the expert. clearly you are not, because the post are there if you care to research them. (At least they used to go back for years until the recent update of the website.)

One thing that does need to be said is that there are people that will be accepted that never see the change. It does not matter whether or not you applied for FA, what does seem to matter is when your financial aid package is completed. Many variables unknown to us can go into this. Some students obviously are last to get their FA package. So for those who have not seen a change, stay positive. For those who do the see the change, be encouraged. Good luck to everyone!!!

ah I see. well hopefully Abbott announces they’re ready to let us know tomorrow!

@lyndak All the accepted students are from ED1, and we all had FA Changes/no FA Changes. I would say that a conglomerated opinion of the students from ED1 (including myself) is better than speculation in this forum. (Obviously we’re all speculating). :)

@uskoolfish

I defer to you and your forum experience. I just wanted to let everyone who hasn’t received an FA Changed to not freak out. <3

Some more interesting info.

52,000 students applied to NYU this year! So excited to meet all the accepted students from that pool!

@uskoolfish got that senior member swag. im straight chillin now.

I regret not doing EDI. :(

I’ve heard from multiple people that the EDI pool was surprisingly small this year. I feel like I would’ve had a better chance not competing with Ivy rejects in the EDII pool…

Can anyone access their NYU email. Like log onto mail.nyu.edu

@NYUhopeful1 I can’t…

@sphinx95 did you get the fa change? For me it says the account is disabled :(

I did get the FA change- on the same day my Globesmart account was created. But yeah, also it says for me that the GoogleApps, and emails are disabled.
