didnt get mine yet…should i be worried?

I was just checking my NYUAlbert thing and when I got to my “Application Status” there were two unchecked boxes for application fees. Does anyone know what those are for? I thought I just had to pay the $70 in the CommonApp.

@anson1 Two? I have only one, and it’s checked. I dunno, it also says it could take several weeks for all your stuff to be processed.

@outonalimb, but the only fee you paid was the CommonApp one?

I was thinking that I may have an extra fee as I am an international student or something

@zebrashorts and @collegebound1260 - I sent mine in on Dec 30th! I don’t think you should be worried, it probably hasn’t processed yet. :)

@anson1 True it might be different for international students, yeah I only had to pay the Common App.

@outonalimb, then I guess ne of mine should be the CommonApp one and I have to find out what the other one is about! Thanks!

NYU asks for midyear transcript reports by March 1st but they make their decisions by Feb 15th… if my school is done with midyear reports before February 15th, would I have to send it to NYU? (Just asking cause I didn’t do so hot in my 2nd quarter grades lol) Or would I be fine with just the transcript I sent them a few weeks ago?

I sent in my 1st quarter grades to show improvement so you can do that to show improvement. You’ll have to send an updated one by March 1st

alright Gotcha.

Do you think it would be wise to contact your admissions counselor that you uploaded your mid-year report early? I did very well first semester and my GPA increased as well. I want to make sure they see the change. Thanks!

Well, I think mid-year reports are generally the first two quarters. Whether your ended earlier or not, you must send it in. And they consider your gpa change nevertheless, at least I would presume so.

A mid-year report is the first semester, or end of the first two quarters. They require it of all applicants- ED and RD. They do this to make sure there are no dramatic changes in grades and that there are also no changes in courses senior year they are unaware of. In your acceptance packet will be a letter that explains you need to clear any course changes with them or notify them if you’ve made any. Not necessarily a big problem as long as it doesn’t impact your proposed major and there’s a reasonable explanation for it. NYU will require an end of year final transcript as well. Incidentally, some school districts automatically and midyear reports to all schools you’ve applied to, and others will require you to request it through your GC.

i applied ED II (obviously) and my midyear grades won’t be avaliable until around the time we find out -Feb 15 because my midterms are at the end of Jan. What should i do?

Their deadline for the mid year reports is I believe march 1st so any time before then. It doesn’t have to go in by the ed2 deadline

I mean the ed2 decision date

They know that the multitude of different school districts across the country have different midyear dates. They just want them sent as soon as they become available. They do this to make sure the grades they based their decision on are generally the same now as then for EDI and II applicants. For RD applicants, it can be used in the decision process. Just keep up your good work, send them when they become available, and don’t worry about that part. They will remind you to send them when you receive an EDII acceptance letter/email. Good luck!

D was accepted ED1 for class of 2012. At the time she wasn’t doing great in AP bio and was working to improve her grade in the class. After she was accepted (no senior grades were ever sent ), her guidance counselor called to see if they needed mid-year reports by March 15. Admissions said not to bother to send since she was admitted anyway. They were so inundated by apps for RD that they were only looking at mid-years for RD candidates. (Not ED 1 or 2 who were already accepted.) Guidance never sent her mid-year report. Obviously, end of year grades were sent, but at that point AP Bio grade was a bit higher (75) and we never heard anything about it.

You guys I am incredibly nervous for mid-February… Let the panicking begin hahaha

So I applied ED II, but my counselor still hasn’t signed the ED agreement on the Common App… I’ve sent her several emails but she just ignores me (stupid ****). Anyway does anyone know what will happen? If she doesn’t sign it, will they just consider me for regular decision?
