*NYU Fall 2018 Transfer Thread*

Is there anyone applying to Tandon School of Engineering getting the decision already?

Have any junior transfers heard back yet?

@Malcontent yoo thank you so much! Just emailed my regional representative.

@luckybaby I am but I haven’t gotten any decision yet I’m still waiting.

Just contacted the housing office and admissions… Having access to the housing portal seems like a good thing based off of their response. “As long as you have been offered enrollment and accepted it for the fall semester as a transfer student, you will be noted as a non-renewable, non-grantee applicant.”

@schoolgirl98
High school GPA: 4.065/4 (weighted)
College GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1350
2 letters of recommendation (1 from a prof. at my college, 1 from a high school teacher)
I also think my essays were pretty good and I tailored them to NYU and Gallatin specifically so that definitely helped. In my “Why NYU?” essay I talked about my career plan and how a Gallatin degree would be best fit in order to encompass everything I want to explore.

Can anyone access the Fall housing application? I can only access Summer 2018 as of right now. My financial aid package hasn’t been released to me yet, so maybe I will have access when that gets released? Anyone with a similar issue let me know!

@kristinm4 I would assume that you would complete the application or access it upon accepting NYU’s offer?

@jrtransfer18 what didn’t you like about Syracuse? I got accepted into the Sports Analytics program, and everything sounds great except for the weather. I’m actually visiting Syracuse on Friday

@msport I’m new to this website so im not 100% sure how to send a PM, but the admission’s person I emailed with’s email is kevin.akinfolarin@nyu.edu . He has been very helpful (typically responds in a day or two).

Has anyone heard back from Steinhardt?

@derrickh2 I’m not sure how to PM you, but there’s just nothing to do here. I’m in Newhouse which is stupid to be leaving but literally all everyone cares about is going out. If you really like partying it’s great, but sometimes it’s exhausting to be surrounded by people that only care about that. I know some people in the Sports Analytics program that absolutely love it and it’s an amazing program so it’s a great opportunity for you. I don’t want to discourage you from it because it can be hard to get in to and so many students are SO happy here. But just in my own experience here I’m bored and depressed most of the time from the weather and lack of activities besides sports games and binge drinking. Partying is obviously everywhere but people look at me like I’m crazy if I say I don’t want to go out on a Thursday night. I’m also from a major city so that definitely has something to do with it. Also, I’d love to be interning during the semester and there aren’t a ton of places to do that.

@jtransfer18 I’m a junior transfer and have not heard back yet

Is anyone applying to a program in Tisch? Or have gotten a decision back from them?

Anyone applying to Steinhardt MCC? or any internationals in here?

@benben123 Hi, I’m applying to MCC, international student. Have u heard something back yet?

does anyone know if we can go to Days on the Square as admitted transfer students or if it is just for Class of '22 students?

@skyleigh I’m applying to Tisch but I haven’t heard anything. So far everything is checked off, including my portfolio, for about a week and a half now but if it follows the usual pattern Tisch acceptances don’t start coming out until late April. The first acceptance from Tisch I saw on last year’s thread was on the 24th or 23rd of April.

@jenjen9796 nooo :// but I also applied late haha, like on the 1st of April lol. Do you mind sharing your stats, TOEFL and GPA etc …? My stats are on page 40 of this thread
