NYU(NY) ED1 2018 Discussion

Kool I agreed with everything you said when I woke up this morning but when I saw someone who’s program changed from LSP to CAS i didn’t know what to believe.

@Siren would you go to LSP?

Alright thanks guy! I sincerely HOPE HOPE that we all hear good news on friday:)

The change from LSP to CAS is a new one to me.

My youngest D is class of 2016. I had been off of CC for a few days before Dec. 15. When I went on at about 2pm that day, I heard mention of FA changes for the first time and saw that hers had not only changed, but that I was able to see the award (nothing – as expected! lol). At About 3:00pm a tab appeared on Albert with accept/ decline. She got her official email at 3:45 pm.

So I’m not sure when her FA status had changed for the first time. But it seemed to have changed for others a few days before the 15th. We did not apply for FA because older D was a student there and I knew where we stood. Plus the art department and FA department made it clear to us that there would not be anymerit aid for studio art in the ED round.

That’s what I concluded from last years threads, there have just been some hostile people who’s FA’s havent changed that say “no FA means nothing. my uncle is an admissions officer” so I didn’t want to step on toes. Reading your post feels good

Thanks for sharing @uskoolfish

Lol my uncle is an officer xD

@gaborik10 Nothing is set and stone so I am not sure yet. I’d have to look more into it if I do get in (so fingers crossed).

I really hope I get to start that LSP thread Friday!!

I’ve always felt this whole time that an FA change means something positive but I’ve been telling people to ignore it in order to call everyone down…I mean honestly, emotions are so high on this thread. You guys have been stressing out all weekend over this LSP thing.

Emotions going to be even higher Friday.

@rogahen I feel you. But this is what CC is like! Some of us have been stressing out since we applied to college prep schools 3-4 years ago on CC. Feels great when it’s over.

on friday I am gonna be extra frustrated waiting on results. like I will be so annoying cuz i wont stop worrying

Yeah I bet…I’m going to unsubscribe from this thread the day before the decision and I’ll stay off of it until I receive my own decision. I’m not worried about it at all; If I get in I’ll be extremely happy and if I don’t get in, after a very brief period of disappointment and reflection, I’ll move on; my life will continue just fine.

The thing everyone needs to understand is that we are a very intelligent group of people and we will all end up in an excellent university no matter what. Being rejected to NYU, or any other university, is not the end of the world.

I could not agree with you more. If its not meant to be then there are better plans for us!!!

@rogahen Thanks for your post. Good luck to all!

If what you guys are saying about FA is true, then i guess that everyone who hasn’t had a FA change (like me) probably got rejected, considering decisions come out in like 4 days and they’ve most likely already made everyone’s decision already. Although it does seem a little bit weird that almost everyone on here has had a FA change.

@RCLVRR You shouldn’t see the people on this thread as a good representative sample of all ED 1 applicants. The people who post regularly on this site are not like any other applicant due to the sheer devotion and care that they have towards NYU. This sort of determination is probably the same drive that they have at their school and extracurriculars which means that they all have pretty strong applications.

In order words, if an FA change does mean acceptance, it doesn’t surprise me that most people on this thread have seen an FA change.

Edit: Not that the people who have not seen a change don’t have strong applications as well, admissions is pretty selective.

@rohagen exactly what I was thinking

Since NYU is ahead of its admission process, is this an indicator that there are less ED1 applicants this year?
