Sounds like it - good luck!

I want my decision now too! I don’t know how I’m supposed to wait until Dec 13. Its driving me crazy. Good luck to all of you!!! :)

anyone know someone who got it with lousy test scores?

ilovegoldfish, so wait - where does it say December 13th? I have always heard December 15th so now I’m confused.

@Marinozai
When you get your Albert log-in, on the home page it says that they expect the ED1 decision to come out Dec 13 after 5pm.

Ah, I see. Okay then, December 13th it is, EST I assume.

Yes, EST. Yay for two less days of waiting!

Still not close enough though!

yes I have the same question!! I have a 630 in math and i’m applying to CAS so i’m very worried. Any thoughts/ similar stories?

Oh my God I just got contacted about an interview with NYU Shanghai!

I’m worried about test scores too but I got a 610 in math so thats worse… I’m really bad at math. My reading was 720 and writing was 750. I’m still confused though because on the application I said I wanted my SAT scores considered first but I’m also sending in predicted IB scores. An admission counselor at nyu said that they take which ever one looks better. I don’t know if my IB scores are good because I wasn’t allowed to see them. Is anyone else sending in IB scores??

Your SAT scores are better than mine - 2080! I think you’re in range, depending what college of NYU you are applying to. I’d just send everything.

@ PinkPurple We have the same exact reading and writing grades freaky! What college are you applying to?

I’m applying to CAS for journalism so it looks @ ccally and I are in a pretty similar position. Also @ ccally you said that a 630 for CAS worries you. Why? I didn’t think CAS placed a ton of importance on math… Or at least not as much as stern.

@PinkPurple95 when I went to the Open House CAS said they were looking for 700’s across the board which freaked me out…hopefully they’ll let it slide for math

@Ccally you did? When? Like did an admissions officer say that?

Oh my gosh. That’s scary. I really hope I can be the exception, but don’t we all?! Did they say that the 700 thing was something new? I know people who have been accepted in the past with lower scores than that.

@PinkPurple95 yea when I went to the open house a month ago they said that, and yea i’ve talked to people who got in with lower scores but nyu has consistently raised its standards every year which gets me so worried…they look at your essays a lot though so maybe that will help

Yeah I think that it does accept people with scores above and below, but people who have scores below should have something that makes them stand out.

Quote from an NYU Admissions Counselor:

“Your GPA and Standardized Test Scores will weigh heavily open your admissions decision. Extracurricular activities will also be considered.”

There is reason to panic, but not too much reason should your GPA balance out your SAT or vice versa.
