My test scores are good- above NYU’s average, in fact, although I don’t have all 700s. I only have a 640 in math. I have a 750 reading and 770 writing, though. Total is 2160. I hope this will be okay. Let’s try not to get ourselves all worked up about it! Its out of our hands now.

What does your Common App say for the status of your application? Mine says “successfully submitted” but it doesn’t say “downloaded”, which, according to the CA website, would indicate that the app has been printed and under (or close to being under) review. Do any of your applications say “downloaded”?

27 days, amigos!

Yeah, all of mine say “Downloaded”.

Mine just says “submitted” and then the date I submitted it. I’m not going to stress about that though…

Yeah they just haven’t downloaded it yet. But you’ve done your part, so you’re good.

this is a weird quick question- does anyone know how they format their email for decisions? Like will the header say Congrats if you got accepted? Im neurotic oh god but I just want to prepare myself

@ccally I hope they don’t…because before even opening the email applicants would already know…There needs to be more tension!!!~…in a good way haha
I hope they start with like “Thank you for your interest in NYU blah blah blah…we had many applicants this year…blah blah blah…UNFORTUANTELY/WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE” I think thats whats gonna happen…letts all hope we get “We are proud to announce”

I think that they email you just saying that the decisions are available, and that you need to log into Albert to find your decision.

@Ccally I was wondering the exact same thing… I even looked online to see if I could find a sample acceptance/rejection letter just so I could mentally prepare myself… god I am totally going insane.

@Marinozai, really? I wasn’t expecting that. I feel like they said they would notify you of your admissions decision via email. If its on Albert, where would we go to see it?

Well my friend applied last year, and I was with her when she got her acceptance. She got an email just saying that the decision was available, and she had to log onto Albert to view the decision. There was like a green light she clicked on that said “Admission offer” or something.

@ilovegoldfish I also tried to find a sample letter! I’m glad I’m not the only person who’s insanely obsessing over this… When you log onto Albert on the left there’s a link for “application status”. The admission decision should be there since right now it says your application is being processed.

D was accepted class of 2012, but things seemed to have been done pretty much the same last year, too.

The official email came after 3pm on December 15. The email was titled “Your NYU Admission Decision”. When you opened the email it said in the first sentence whether you were accepted or not. The body of the letter gave directions for logging into Albert, and when you had to respond/ give deposit, etc.

However, prior to receiving the email, beginning at maybe 1:30 or 2:30 pm, people who were accepted began seeing changes on their Albert Account. Theses changes did not happen all at once even if you were accepted, the same way that the acceptance emails did not all come at the same time.

For those accepted, Albert showed the financial aid award for the year that you would attend and a green button that said “Admission Offer” to click on when you were ready to accept their offer.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Thanks, that helps a lot!

Does the albert page change once all credentials are in the NYU office? Mine still has the same checklist…maybe its because the ‘Audition’ requirement isn’t checked off yet? I already contacted school and they said they will check after then15th, which already passed. If they do receive my audition materials and check it off on albert, does the page change?

^^^Same with steinhardt music department auditions…specifically music tech. My checklist is still unchecked

I applied to CAS. Everything in my list is checked off, but the page did not change.

Hey for anyone who wants to participate just to help the waiting period, feel free to respond answering these questions:
- What are you doing to fill your time while waiting to hear of your decision?
- What school/program did you apply to?
I’ll start. I’m filling my time by constantly checking this thread and eating a lot. I applied to Steinhardt for Media, Culture and Communications.

@dorkfornewyork

I applied to the same program as you!

I’m busying myself with a lot of ec’s and am eagerly awaiting my November results from Collegeboard.

Has anyone’s Common App shown “downloaded” instead of just “submitted” or is it just me?
