For those of you that were accepted. How many actually plan on attending? The financial aid was, true to its rumors, a joke. I’m looking at almost $100k of debt for only 2 and a half years at NYU after scholarships and grants. Not sure if my math is right about that though.

@supaflypatty
same I’m really torn

I think this feed is slowly dying as more and more people have gotten in, but I’d just like to say, for those of us who haven’t, good luck on getting, and also a good luck to everyone who is looking at the daunting task of paying for NYU.

If there’s is one downfall to NYU, it’s the lack of financial aid it gives out despite having such a high tuition. I dont know if you’ve read up on it at all, but they’re raising and bunch of money now to go towards aid and scholarships. I’m not sure if transfers can get some of that or if its just for incoming freshmen, but there might be a chance you can get more financial aid once you have been there for some time.

Isn’t true that those who have gotten in should have gotten their acceptance by now? I still hear nothing from the admission committee except for that I called them and them told me that Im supposed to hear back from them within this week. I just feel like the chance I would get in is close to zero. It is unlikely for them to notify the accepted student this late.

well its like they said, they’ve been having a lot of issues from the new common app this year so they are really behind on everything. Don’t lose hope, they might just be late with their decision.

Does anyone know when financial aid awards will be available?

For anyone out there with lower stats yet to hear back, I have a 3.4 from college and a 3.1W from high school along with a 2050 on the SAT and I got into CAS. Stats aren’t everything, stay positive!

Tuesday again. Good luck everyone.

Anyone hear from NYU today?

That’s exact what I want to ask. Anyone ?

NYU might be waiting to hear back from the already accepted people. They need to know how many plan on enrolling so they know how many more students they can accept.

I want to call them, but I dont want it to seem like I’m growing impatient… even though I kind of am

but @Travel7seas you’re probably right on that one. I don’t see why it would take so long to tell someone if they’ve been, at least, denied. Maybe they are just waiting to see how many spots are going to be filled.

I don’t understand what is taking so long. I got a decision from the other school I applied to already. I have to make a decision very soon on whether I will transfer or return so it’s pretty frustrating

I feel you @justamess92 next week is the deadline for two of the other schools I’ve been accepted too, but I don’t want to say anything because NYU is my first choice.

Still nothing on my end. It’s odd that a handful of us on CC haven’t heard yet. Obviously some of us have, but the type of student that checks and posts on this forum a million times a day isn’t necessarily your average slacker. We care about our education and I’m sure that’s reflected through our application. At this point we just need to be positive. If we were denied admission we would know.

I just looked back at last years transfer thread and the last group of CC applicants received word on Thursday, December 13th (December 12th for us). This should be the last stretch. Good luck!

@FlexPavillion you said you are a first year, right? I had my counselor contact NYU on my behalf and they said it’s because of the grades. They need to see how we are doing in college (a mid year report, kinda thing). I didnt really understand them, so I’m gonna contact them myself. Dont be afraid to call, btw. This will not impact your chances of getting in.

@victorchlee the common app has a midterm report that you print out and have your teachers sign. I sent mine in around the time my official midterm report for my school was sent out, sometime in late September.

I also called them today and they said to expect something by the end of the week.

Also, I dont know how it worked out for you, but they were giving me a lot of heat for not having a transcript sent in. I had to stress A LOT that I was a freshman and didn’t have a transcript to send in.

Hey @FlexPavillion, yes, I did send that to NYU. But they told me that they are expecting a transcript with final grades. I literally can’t understand why and how they expect us to have a transcript with final grades ready, given that we’re only freshmen. Let’s hope for the best, mister. Let me know if you get anything.
