@shayly by the looks of things its they send them in the morning, but you never know.

Those who have been accepted: Have you guys heard anything about orientation yet? I would like to buy plane tickets and whatnot soon.

Yes I received an email from my advisor at NYU. “Welcome to the College of Arts and Science (CAS) and New York University. I am a CAS Academic Advisor and will assist you in registering for Spring 2014 classes. In the Spring you will be invited to CAS Transfer Orientation, January 23-24, where you will meet in person with your full-time CAS Academic Advisor (me) to finalize your schedule, answer any lingering questions, be informed about the resources that CAS & NYU have to offer and take the mandatory Writing Proficiency Exam.” That’s part of what I received, but it was a long email, sorry I dont know if this helps at all haha @rachel0725.

Congrats to all who got in today! Everyone else hang in there! Does anyone else who’s committed to going want to start a spring 2014 transfer Facebook group or something?

@rachel0725 I haven’t heard anything about orientation either, although it’s not too much of an issue because I live about 35 minutes from campus haha.

I paid my housing deposit but where do I apply for housing? The website says that I’ll find the application under channels at NYU Home but there’s no housing button.

@FlexPavillion I noticed that, so at least I can give up hope once 12 rolls around each day haha
Thanks!

@anne94 What are you majoring in? I am in CAS also and have not heard anything /:

@rachel0725 @FlexPavillion do you guys know how long is it going to take for them to process our fin aid packages?

about a few hours after my acceptance, my FA was processed.

However I didn’t apply for any. I just got an update that said the package you chose (which was nothing) has been processed.

@FlexPavillion ughhh same here. I had to call them and ask about fin aid, but they told me to wait one week.
Did anyone else had their fin aid processed already?

@flexpalion so today is the last day for results?

I am majoring in economics, but there is still today to hear back, so don’t panic. what is your major? @rachel0725

@victorchlee I dont think so. Someone said earlier in the feed that they could go through winter break.

Of course that would be annoying, but unless you’ve received a rejection, don’t assume you’ve been rejected.

@anne94 I’ve been accepted already I just haven’t heard anything about an orientation date yet and I am in CAS also. I emailed someone yesterday so hopefully they can tell me. I’m so so eager to go!! haha

@mochiboo55 I do not have financial aid. I am on this thing called the Texas Guaranteed Tuition Plan. Most of my NYU tuition will be covered under this. The rest my parents are just paying out of pocket.

Does anyone have an idea of what order they go through the applications? Eg: submission date, school student is applying to, number of credit hours. I know it’s unlikely anyone knows, but I thought I’d ask on the off-chance someone’s advisor had told them.

@shayly the date you apply doesn’t matter, I applied early October and only heard back yesterday. The only way I can see the school you applied to as weighing in is if they have little available space. Keep in mind too that different NYU colleges have different acceptance rates (ex. CAS: 32% Steinhardt: 24%) …those could be wrong

I’d say that the most weighted things on your app are your GPA, course rigor, and SAT’s (if you sent them in) Next I would say would be your Essay, Recommendation and EC’s

I still didnt get my answer for spring 2014 , when is the latest notification sent out ?

@marjanainesb If it makes you feel any better, neither did I. Somebody mentioned on this thread that the admissions office told them they would be sending letters through Winter break and that our letters were put on hold due to Early Decision letters needing to go out. Not great, but nothing we can do, I guess.

I had called the admissions office earlier this week and they had said that if one doesn’t receive a decision by the end of this week that he/she should contact the office on Monday 12/16.

@shaahm Thanks for the heads-up. Have you gotten word back yet?
