October 2012 PSAT score

Last year (Sophomore year) I got three 71’s, so a 213. Is there a good chance that I might exceed that this year, considering I prepped none? North Carolina has been 213 in the past, but I’m not counting on it again this year.

My son received his PSAT score from his high school today. He got 226 as expected. We are from Michigan.

@DukeHopeful: Somewhere I have seen that the average increase in score between sophomore and junior years is 10 points. Of course, you had a solid score your sophomore year. Typically, if the cut-offs go up, it’s by no more than 3 points. At least this is what I have observed on some of the cut-off score threads here on CC.

Good luck!

Got a 212 in PA which put me in the 99th percentile. Theoretically I still have a shot at the semifinals I believe but I think I can bank on commended.

The expected increase between 10th and 11th grade PSAT score is on the college board website.

The expected improvement is much higher for low scorers

On average only a point or two is predicted for high scorers - there is a bell-shaped curve and high scorers also drop frequently by several points.

Then again, after taking it, I reviewed it in my head and with other classmates, and I can honestly say that there was not one that I was not absolutely sure of. I’m feeling a 240 coming on, whether I studied or not. Have to think positive.

Sophomore here, I got a 231; missed 1 in each section (80 CR, 76 M, 75 W). Of course, knowing me, I’ll probably screw it up next year when it actually matters. Any other sophs get their scores yet?

Did anyone get PSAT Saturday scores back. I am from NY and I need a 225 or higher but I think I got 1 question wrong on Saturday for Writing and probably more I didnt know about, so just wondering.

PA got scores today. 216 was 99%ile.

Can everyone who has gotten scores please report the number they missed (including guessing penalty) and their score?

I’m pretty sure PA’s 99th percentile went as low as 210. I had it at 212.

My score was 73 - 73 - 66, with 2 - 2 - 3 wrong respectively, omitted none.

@SATACT95
the cutoff for NY has been at 219 at most hasn’t it?..

Are you sure thats right Indigo? -2 for CR is almost always 77-78

CR: 68 for -6 all guessed incorrectly

Math: 67 for -2 guessed incorrectly and omitting 4

Writing: 70 for -3 all guessed incorrectly

Is that for saturday or wednesday test Disantis ?

For those of you who took the Saturday test, can you let us know the curve?
:)

My post was for Wednesday’s test

Indiana junior here, scored a 221 on the Wednesday test. 64 CR with -8, 80 math, and 77 writing with -1, no questions omitted.

NJ Junior, 225

80 CR: - 1, none omitted
68 M: -4, none omitted
77 W: -1, none omitted

Hoping for a chance at semi-finalist :)

Anyone has a list of the cut-offs for NJ in the last years?

My post was for Wednesday’s test.
