@RoseOak: No, I did not study at all for my sophomore PSAT. I didn’t use any book for the practice tests, either; I used the official practice tests given out by the CB for 2011 and 2012 (I hadn’t used the 2011 one). No prep courses, just structured studying at home.

@Studious where do you get official PSAT tests?

I just got my score, and it’s a 221. I’m in Texas so I’m pretty satisfied with that.

Wyanokie,
my junior son got his Wed PSAT score: 230 (CR 77, Math 76, Writing 77.)
His soph. score was 196 and freshman was 204. He did not study for it until before the junior PSAT. So you absolutely can improve your score.

Alexandrina,
I agree with you about Barron, Kaplan, and Princeton Review for PSAT preparation. My son got so frustrated with Barron and just quit using it alltogether. He then used the other two and like them. He also finds Kaplan a little easier and Princeton just right. Although, he had never scored a 230 when he practiced at home. So this is a pleasant surpise.

I got 216 as a sophomore with no prep! That’s good enough for semifinalist in MI, so I just have maintain it for next year.
76 M, 72 W, 68 CR

I got a 210 in FL. So close! At least I’m Hispanic lol

228 here in Kansas!
80 W
77 CR
71 M

Up 5 points in math, everything else same as last year. I’m thrilled, this means I’ll be able to afford to go to school out of state.

222 here in Massachusetts, kind of uncertain if i’ll be able to qualify for semifinalist or not :

Surprised the Math curve for -1 was 4 points:/ missed a stupid question that cost me an 80:’’’(

Like we’ve said, collegeboard has already released the entire curve. There is no need to keep copy and pasting the makeshift one.

I got an email this morning telling me to log onto my College Board account to see my scores and stuff… I knew it wasn’t going to work, but I still tried. It didn’t, of course :(. I wish they didn’t send those emails because I know they get a lot of peoples’ hopes up.

Having said that, why doesn’t College Board just put PSAT scores online to start with, like the SAT? That makes a lot more sense to me…

thelemonisinplay: Congratulations! Would you happen to know the qualifying score for the semifinals, then?

got 237 in Texas.
80 CR
80 Math
77 Writing

Still wasn’t highest in class. Two people at my school got 240s. I have a feeling that semifinalist score is going to be considerably higher across the states.

what do you guys think the cutoff will be?

junior with a 228 in california

Does anyone in MS have their scores back yet???

Does anybody in NC have their scores yet? I get mine on Friday.

Can anyone who took the Saturday test and got it back tell me the answers to the following two questions?

1.) The swimming question. Was it no error, or B?

2.) The question that said, “Digging for treasure, John found something in the ground” or something along those lines. I thought that it would be more fluent having “While digging for treasure…” but I wasn’t sure if there was necessarily an error.

Thank you for anyone who can help!

Down in SoCal…

my school is bogged down with senior apps and such, so we’re probably not going to get PSAT scores back until Jan

Congrats to everyone who made it~

promised scores by 12:50 tomorrow, freaking out on the inside!!!
