CAS applicant and got rejected. Guess I’m off to UCLA!

No acceptance today?

Still waiting myself. An answer would be so appreciated!

I’m guessing Thursday will be acceptance day this week

hey guys, my high school transcript is still incomplete shown on albert, and its already mid may! i mailed it one month ago, maybe i should just call the office.

@transfer20140826 Definitely call! They probably have it and haven’t gotten around to checking it off in albert, but better safe than sorry.

@theyadoreyou I just called! And the AI replied they’ve already got my high school transcript package, and told me if I still haven’t heard from them I should be fine fingercrossed, hope to get in

Who applied to stern?

rejected from gallatin and i could not be more upset. does anyone know what the paul mcghee division is and should i consider it?

Really anxious, considering a lot of applicants are getting their decisions and I’m still waiting. Should I call the admissions office, or is it not worth it?

@mel325 I’m really sorry you didn’t get in
I am a non-traditional applicant and I have looked into continuing studies programs at tons of universities. Ultimately, I have found that a BA/BS from state schools are better than what these programs offer (even elite programs like Harvard Extension School). To each their own. If it’s something you want to pursue just do your research. They seem more like cash cows for universities than solid programs.

@thecollegekid24 I applied to Stern. Admissions told me they send emails every Thursday/Friday mornings.

I am getting very worried about my chances after reading the recent blog post

"…If we do have additional space available, we may not be able offer scholarship assistance, as the majority of our NYU scholarship funds have now been exhausted. As a result, we may be need-aware in making any remaining offers of admission.

Students holding a space on the wait list should not send any additional information at this time. We promise to provide period updates here as the summer progresses and we will provide a final decision for all remaining students waiting, no later than August 1.

The vast majority of transfer admission decisions will be finalized by May 15 and decisions sent over the next week. We will hold off on making some transfer admission decisions in order to secure spring semester grades/transcripts and to determine if space may be available later this summer in certain programs. We are unable to expedite a faster admission decision upon request so we thank you in advance for your patience."

I require quite a lot of aid, if I were to attend NYU, and hearing the news that they will be “need-aware” in the admissions process is very disconcerting…

@Angelofmiracles if you don’t mind me asking, where did you see this blog post? And that means most of us will hear back on Thursday!!

@nyunyufall14 <a href=“MEET NYU - Home”>MEET NYU - Home;

it would seem that Thursday is the day!

Wait, really?? Because I read that as they will make their decisions by the 15th and send them out over the course of next week. Please tell me I’m wrong lol.

Edit: “decisions sent over next week” this blog was written yesterday. So if he meant we’d hear back by Thursday, wouldn’t that have been phrased “decisions sent over the course of this week” or something? I could be totally wrong. I feel like I’m losing my mind

@crushingpennies i think you may be right. If they are making decisions by Thursday though, why can’t they just release them on the same day?! They don’t need to wait until the week after to announce them ugh. But the fact that they will be accepting only about 50 more people is making me nervous :/

@nyunyufall14 Wait I read that as in 50 more students off the wait list rather than transfer students? Idk though. omg now I’m even more anxious…

After reading this article, I’m under the impression everyone who has not heard back is wait listed? Also, not encouraging that admissions into Stern is “unlikely.” Oh well…

@nyunyufall14 @crushingpennies hi guys, I’m new to this thread (though i’ve been reading it for a while!) but I’m almost positive the 50 more students is in reference to the waitlisted seniors in high school. I read somewhere transfer acceptance rate is based on how many people transfer out of nyu (they need a quota for each class) so we as transfers have nothing to do with the waitlisted high school seniors!
