@whitespace I agree, it’s part of my daily routine now when I come home, I just check the mailbox.
@whitespace @BureaCat I agree, too! I mean it’s nice to have a set time with online portals, but I literally run to the mailbox everyday I get home from school (i’m a dork, I know haha)
Still no indication of a date for this week? Hopefully we’ll hear before Easter
My guess (emphasis on guess) is that they send them out on Thursday, we get them Saturday or Monday.
I don’t live at the address where the letter will be sent, so I think when I stop calling her every day to check, my mom will be a lot happier.
I want to get in but it’s so hard to
@markpasenter2 I know the feeling. I went to an information session, and the counselor in charge basically said, “If you have this one specific situation, it’s going to be very hard for us to admit you without everything else being in place” and yeah, that’s me.
What situation ? @whitespace
Significant grade drop second semester junior year @markpasenter2
.
To everyone who’s been asking about when decisions are being mailed out: I was accepted early action and was at the GAAP weekend this past weekend (accepted students weekend). I overheard Charles Deacon (the dean of admissions) talking to another admissions officer and a parent, and apparently they plan to send out the letters on or before this weekend, and a verbatim quote was “we hope to get these sent out on Saturday.” So that means the absolute latest the letters would be sent out would be Saturday, because (obviously) Sunday is Easter. Hope this is helpful to you guys. Don’t stress too much, honestly – you’ll all still be incredible human beings even if GU doesn’t have room in the class of 2020 for you.
@gu2020 Thank you for the info.
@markpasenter2 There’s not much you can do about it now, and those are great scores. I think it’s best to not worry about it. If you don’t get in, it’ll be alright. There are a number of amazing schools out there that would love to have you, and an acceptance or a rejection is not a reflection on your personal character or achievements.
@nsliyromanov It’s likely that they will send it before Easter. If not, then the actual week of Easter (next week), leading up to April 1st.
What other schools did you apply to ? @whitespace
@markpasenter2 I applied to Northeastern EA and was accepted, UVA EA and was deferred, and I’m waiting to hear back from Brown, Columbia, Georgetown (SFS), Harvard, and Vanderbilt (in no particular order)
Those are some tough schools. @whitespace
I know… I’m excited to hear back, though! I’m optimistic but realistic, and I already have a great choice in NEU. I think Georgetown is my top choice, though!
Georgetown is my top. I hope I get in!!! Ughhhhhh
I can’t wait anymore @whitespace
@whitespace I have to agree with @markpasenter2, those are some tough schools, but I pride you on your choosing those schools. What do you hope to major in?
Thank you! @Cosmopolitian13 You can’t get in if you don’t apply, you know? I’m hoping to study political science and English.
