Official Boston University Fall 2013 Transfer Thread

@that1guyy I hear you, I also applied to USC. But no decision yet. Funny story, they are more vigilant about doing application checks than any school I know of. I forgot to send in a credential (mistakes are bound to happen when you apply to so many schools) and they requested it. That piece of information is not on any of the documents I sent in. The only way they could have known it existed is if they did some sort of poking around, which is obviously what happened. Regardless, I sent the document in and my application is complete. I expect to be accepted. I love the location but considering my other offers right now Dartmouth and Cornell are my top choices. I just declined Boston University’s offer so maybe someone else will get in. Am I the only one that gets excited about acceptance letters from universities I have no intention of attending? Good luck with your decision that1guyy. If you get into USC, your decision is a no-brainer.

I guess the first wave of acceptance has passed
that’s why it is more quiet here this 2 weeks
the mid-may thing will be the second wave…
for some of us who don’t have the higher stats…

I will most likely not be attending BU. I got into NYU, my top choice. So there will be an extra spot open in the film department. Hope one of the people here gets it. Good luck!

i was accepted by COM and i am looking for a new roommate!! see you guys in BU . haha

@reallyrosie and sherry920614

Congrats! I was accepted in COM as well. Are you guys going to attend?

@that1guyy

yes! i was also accepted by PSU and Syracuse U. But i love Boston very much!!

how about you? any other better options?

Hey that1guy, I have similar stats as yours, and I’m planning to apply to BU as a transfer student for fall of 2014. Do you have any advice for me? I’m applying to CAS in Econ.

I’m still waiting on NYU and Northwestern for COM but I really love BU!

Just got rejected. This was practically my only choice unless I want to go to a public school.

3.94 gpa for nothing.

Rejected with a 3.94? I’m shocked. Did you have a low high school GPA?

@Rain202: I got a G.E.D and started college two years early (I’m 18 now). But that was probably what did it.
@Marmun: I applied to Sargent College for Nutrition.

I’m hoping there is a way to appeal. I sent them an email inquiring cause this is rather ridiculous.

Has anyone not received a decision either way yet? I feel like I’ve been waiting forever and haven’t gotten a yes or no yet.

I haven’t heard anything. 3.8 GPA from a top 100 university, 30 on the ACTs, and 6 A’s and 1 B+ on the midterm report.

OMG OMG ACCEPTED TO COM!!!
I just can’t beliiiieve… I was rejected as a freshman and now that!!! OMG
I wish the best of luck to you all! Don’t give up!!

@cctransfer212

Yeah man. BU really wants you to show interest in their school. They get applications who use BU as a safety and don’t like that. They want applicants who actually want to go to BU so make sure your essays focus on the things you really like about BU and why specifically BU is your choice, as in what are you getting from there that youi cant find in other schools). Be really specific, and mention BU’s programs, courses, and other things by name. Also, of course, make sure your GPA is solid (3.7+ should be good) and have some extra-curricular activities relevant to your major that show passion to your desired field and leadership positions.

@bosbr100

Congrats!! I know how much you were waiting for this haha. Will you be attending??
