Btw I declined admission yesterday. That leaves a spot open for somebody. Good luck!

For those of you who got accepted but not planning to attend BU,
please decline your admission so that people who are desperately trying get in would
have a higher chance
thank you!

I am so nervous right now, BU is the last university that haven’t given me a decision yet…and it is my dream school

Anyone else who got into COM waiting on NYU? A lot of people say BU is better than NYU for COM but I’m not sure. Anyone have any info?!?

@reallyrosie

I think you’re right. NYU COM is in Steinhardt right? I was going to apply there but I heard Steinhardt is kind of a joke school at NYU, while at BU its considered a very strong school. And anyways NYU is so impersonal and not really much of a cohesive college. But some people love the anonymity of New York so don’t let me dissuade you. It’s still a very good school and can open doors for you.

For me its between USC Annenberg and BU’s COM.

Annenberg is fantastic! But I am biased coming from LA :)

I’m from LA too haha and there’s some obvious pros to USC. I think if I get into USC it will be one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made haha.

that1guyy and marmun, thanks a lot guys! I was really excited!

marmun, I didn’t get any email. I just checked the applicant link and my decision was there.

reallyrosie, yes. I’m still waiting on NYU. Does anyone know if it is harder to get into NYU compared to BU?

that1guyy, I think it’s in CAS. At least the journalism program at NYU is in CAS.

For those accepted, where and how did you find out about transfer credit? and what about merit aid?
I don’t see a lot of info in the applicant link

that1guyy, ops I forgot to answer before. I’m like 99% sure I will attend. I’m just waiting to hear back from nyu, but i’ve dreamed about bu for years

Bosbr: NYU’s MCC program is significantly harder to get into (based on numbers) not because it is better, but because there is significantly more competition.

Hey bro,

I’m gonna apply for fall 2014 at BU. Can I get some tips on what to do other than having a good gpa. Plus, can you send me a copy of your personal essay and supplement essay if that’s possible?

Thank you so much buddy. Will keep that in mind, and you have a great year at BU. :)

For those accepted, which dorm is the best for transfers? I don’t know nobody in BU, so I thought living in West would be good to meet people… but it is so far from COM. Does the BU shuttle take you from west to com?
And where do you see merit aid and transfers credit in the website?

The advice that I got from a friend who is a junior COM student: “I would try to Bay state as a transfer, since it’s a pretty common place for upper classmen. AVOID west (claflin, sleeper, rich) and Warren Towers like the plague. Those are freshman dorms.
or Stuvi and Stuvi 2, since you’ll get to know a lot of upper classmen in those dorms.”

@bosbr100
you can see transfers credit in Student Link.
but mine is still blank. i guess they are evaluating now.
about housing, i really have no idea. i want to share a room with a transfer…

sherry920614, thanks. I’ll look at it.

I know people say to stay away from warren and west, but it might be easier to meet people, and having a dining room right there sounds good… at the same time, im not super social 24/7 and i kinda need some quite time to study and just stay by myself… okay, i really don’t know… i would also like to share with a transfer
I would love stuvi2, but i heard it is only for juniors and seniors…

i heard there’s a FB page for fall transfers, does anyone have the link?

sherry920614, thanks!

Committed to BU COMM :)

reallyrosie, I haven’t committed yet, but I got into COM as well! If I commit, we should definitely talk hahaha I don’t know nobody there
