OFFICIAL Brown 2009 Transfers Thread

I agree. It seems like they may have already made the decision and moved the people that were accepted into Spring into Spring.

Or possibly they are now reviewing applications for the spring. If you didn’t make it for the fall, you may have been moved to the spring pile. But I don’t think any one should get their hopes up that having spring means an acceptance. College admissions can be very tricky.

Well, while I’d love to think they moved people that were denied from fall to the spring (then I’d be accepted for fall!) I doubt that, haha. Unless, they just kept the absolute denials in the fall.

Ok, so maybe I’m over-analyzing it.

arcadefire1027 brings up a valid point - if one is denied, what is the point of changing the season of potential enrollment? Fall 2009 may be more cut and dry - accept, deny. Spring 2010 could just mean accept. Waitlist could fall into any either…This is all terribly speculative and over-analytical.

“This is all terribly speculative and over-analytical.”

That’s been my life the past two months.

yeah mine said it was moved to spring 2010 too…

Laxman, can you use any of the options in the Brown menu?? Like the register, financial aid, etc?? I think it really sounds like you were accepted for the Spring or are being considered for the Spring unlike the majority of us lol

i was looking at my financial aid page, and it said i still had some outstanding materials. it said i’d get an email if any materials were missing. should i interpret that as a rejection, since why would the financial aid office bother asking for those materials if i wasnt going to be accepted?

I’m pretty concerned about the Financial Aid aspect, given I am unable to submit my parents 2008 tax returns because my parents haven’t completed them (they’re in the middle of a divorce–there’s nothing I can do to get the forms completed any faster).

Since Brown isn’t need-blind for transfers, that means I’m basically asking them to accept me without knowing my up-to-date financial situation. Then again, if they assumed the worst, they would be right.

Hakuna matata?

Giacomo, interesting enough - my financial aid information page JUST changed today. Finally “waived” the IDOC package and now says I need to send in my 2008 tax returns as well as my parents. Thing sat in limbo for like a month and a half. ::sigh:: No e-mail either.

stewartudall, I actually never checked the financial aid page till tonight, but when I did the same thing showed up: “waived” IDOC package and they say they need my mine and my parents 2008 taxes (though a message below the outstanding materials says they only need my parents???)

so is this good/bad/neither? brown has been my dream all year. alas, i do have georgetown if all else fails…

I’m so excited (and ready to be disappointed) I just can’t take it! I’m gonna throw 10 parties if I get in! I just wish I could go back in time and write a better essay…

I’ll sacrifice 100 goats and two of my most prized cows to Athena.

nah, maybe its a glitch. Anyways, I’m already into davidson, so at least I know I don’t have to come back

Brown?! Glitches!? Blasphemy!

congrats laxman! i live right by davidson, great school. stephen left though :(

arcadefire invite me to your party  lol

You’re invited! Plus we’re both in Southern California. Where do you go to school now anyways?

One week remaining… good luck everyone.
