UC Riverside, haha. Something tells me that will probably hurt my chances.

Anybody have any updates before we go into this weekend? lol
Will the misery be coming to an end soon?

Is anybody else unable to log into their Brown application summary page? I was able to yesterday, but now I can’t today.

I still can. That’s really odd…

Yeah I still can as well Redsox. Did you try resetting your password?

What do you think the possibility of them letting me know the decision over the phone? I’ve already heard from the other school’s that I’ve applied to, so I’d like to just get the waiting over with.

I wanted an early notification too because I have to respond to another school soon. When I called Admissions, they told me to fax the acceptance letter from the other school and a letter with my birthday and my signature. They said it would take about a day to process.

hey
so i got this spring semester 2010 thing on my brown page too!
Also who says we find out next week?
I’ve had no notification from brown…?

When I called about that, the lady said that most likely, the admissions committee had to divide the applicants into fall and spring. When I pressed asking about whether or not spring meant acceptances, she was hesitant and very choosy with her words.

I posted about this before though, saying that fall could mean accept/deny/waitlist, whereas spring might mean accept/waitlist, as what is the point of changing the season if one is denied. Then again, perhaps after a certain date, applicants were sent immediately to be considered for spring. As a fellow applicant, I certainly do not mean to get anybody’s hopes up as I myself have gone through the emotional wringer, so keep in mind this is all terribly speculative and over-analytical. But I just thought I should let people know what I’ve heard about fall/spring.

Where’s the website to even check?

How good is brown with aid for transfers? Do they meet financial need?

not need blind
highest loan bracket if you do get aid

I have a quick question. So I definitely did not realize that we could send in midterm grades until now (which is rather late) but I know for a fact that my final grades were sent out either yesterday or today morning, meaning Brown should get it by the 12th at the latest. As late as it is, do you think they’ll still take a look at it when going over their final decisions, or would it be too late by then? I’m expecting them to just discard it, but I’m really hoping for the former.

Really? Wow that sucks. I was thinking by “need-aware” that meant that they were less likely to accept you if you needed financial aid, though they’d give you a good package if they did accept you.

Would the financial aid improve the year after? Rather, would you still be considered a transfer the year after your first?

I can’t say but I bet you are. My package wasn’t bad at all but I was still thrown into the highest loan bracket for that stupid reason.

man that’s awful, especially since my family’s income is <15,000. Well, I’ll see what happens

if that’s the case then you wouldn’t have loans in the first place. but they will take that into consideration when you apply, how much money you will cost them.

Im joining this chat a little late everyone

Freshman from UCIrvine, and I havent gotten anything from Brown regarding login username or any information, any advice?

Well, I guess you could just let it go at this point: it’s likely too late to send missing info anyway, so you might as well just wait for the letter in the mail

reverand speaker, i would call their office IMMEDIATELY on monday, and ask them if they have received everything.
