oh, i just assumed it meant something like that. i don’t actually know anything… lol~

Anyone a philosophy major?

^ nah, But I am econ =) lol

o and ty safetosay for the info

is anyone going to request an early admission decision (due to enrollment reply-by dates at other colleges?)… might give us a clue about when they are going to be sending out letters.

Does anyone know how they would inform you in advance? Via e-mail, maybe? Because I need to do this, but I DO NOT WANT TO GET BAD NEWS OVER THE PHONE LIKE THAT. Because I’d just want to be able to feel sorry for myself and instead I’d be, like, trying not to make the person on the phone feel bad for me. Har har har.

Anyone know more about this?

@qwertychester: I am!!! Nice to meet you, fellow philosopher-to-be! :)

@transferapp11: I did, but they haven’t offered me an early decision at all. I should probably call and ask them what’s going on…

anyone heard anything recently?

Nothing at all! Not even an announcement about when they’d release decisions. Penn just announced their decision date. Oh well. Brown, hurry up! I’m getting impatient! :)

C’mon guys!!! Decisions are out in about a week. Lets get excited!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOHHOOOOOOOO!!!

Raise your hand if you’re nervous! (raises both hands)

Consider mine raised :)

^ Did you guys get emails already regarding the date?

not yet. I am assuming they are posting the decisions online?

I didn’t get an email about the date. Last year people got their decisions around the 13th or 14th. I think it was by mail, though.

What I think will happen is that, sometime next week, you will receive a sneaky email telling you that your Brown decision is now available. But because they want to keep you in suspense, they don’t tell you the decision on that email but ask that you log onto the website to find out.

You log onto to the website and it seems like it takes forever.

You click on “Applicant and Student” while your heart starts to beat a little faster than usual.

You click on “Review My Application(s)” sweat now starting to form on the surface of your palms.

You click on “Fall 2011” and wipe the sweat off your palm on your jeans in that few seconds it takes to reach the next web-page.

You reach the Application Summary but still!!! the decision is not there because… you have to scroll down.

You take a deep, deep breathe because this is the decision you have been waiting for, for months. What happens next may define the rest of your life. All your dreams and aspirations are waiting for you below; at the mercy of this simple little web-page.

Then you scroll down and find out.

Then you come here, to this thread, and we all celebrate and party like there’s no tomorrow.

@sedaris Wow!! Your description was amazing, I was getting nervous while reading it , and for sure that’s what will happen next week… I can’t wait!!

For real, Sedaris? How do you know?

Oh… you said “I think”… implying that you do not know for sure… :)

Yeah I don’t know for sure. But when I was applying to colleges ‘back in the day’ in high school this is how I found out from all the colleges: an email telling you to login somewhere to find out your decision.

If we are offered a spot for the Spring, will that affect when we graduate? Say, instead of graduating with your class, you graduate half a year later?

How important is the reason for applying? Same level as test scores and extra curriculars? Thanks
