So can you transfer going into your Sophmore year to Michigan. Ie- go to a college for one year and then apply for your second year to Michigan?

^Yes, you can apply as a transfer into Michigan after one semester at another college.

I just received the good news today at 10 am, I got into the college of engineering!
I applied Jan. 23rd, no big deal, only 12 weeks of waiting…

Stats:
Accepted to College of Engineering (Civil Engineering)
Current student at WCC
GPA: 4.0
Transferable Credits: 50 (includes current 13 credits)
After this semester I will have completed the entire list of required course work for engineering transfer students except differential equations which I am taking this spring.

High School GPA: 3.0
ACT: 28
Legacy: Father is an alumnus

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats! I originally did not get in for Winter of 2012, so I deferred it until 2012 so I could send them the grades for the classes this semester (Winter). It’s been two months and I still have not heard back :X

They asked for my midterm grades, which were good this semester so I hope I still have a chance…

For those who got in, does Wolverine Access tell you, or do you just get an email? When I previously applied, the Wolverine Access from Winter of 2012 did not state any decision whatsoever.

@asheikh

For me, wolverineaccess had updated with my decision at around 2:30 am and I got an email at 11 am later that day.

The only reason I know is because I just happened to be awake at 3 am and I just happened to check wolverineaccess.

good luck

My wolverineaccess updated before I got an email also. I am not sure what time my account was updated, but I got my email at about 10:30 eastern time. Also, I have a lot of friends that applied as transfer students this semester to the school of engineering, most of whom have not heard anything, but all have good stats and should get in. I think the school of engineering is just a little slower at reviewing applications than most of the University.

I finally heard from them yesterday and they want to wait until I finish this semester and see my final grades before making a decision! Aaahhhh! This is killing me!

Hi, I just found out that I could get full financial aid through the GI bill at UMich. Regrettably I only applied at UIUC for OOS, thinking I wanted to stay in-state anyways, and got accepted. I am now considering applying to UMich for winter quarter though.

What are my chances of getting in as a Math major, with a 3.4-3.5 GPA and about 110 quarter units? Is it easier or harder to transfer during Winter? And would UIUC look down on applying again for winter there?

I GOT IN! I’ve been checking Wolverine Access three times a day for two weeks straight…I guess I just got my decision a few minutes ago for LSA.

I am ungodly ecstatic…especially since this was the last time I would apply (already applied 3 times before)…and got in with a <3.00 GPA with 64 credits.

So for those out there…do not fret there are miracle stories just as what I just went through!

Anybody up for a Facebook group?

Im a sophomore transfer student economics major for fall 2012, and all im panicing about currently is selecting a dorm room from the housing website! the first day the room list opened up, there were a few rooms on central campus, but i was stupid enough to wait a couple days to do my research, and then all what there is left now are rooms in bursley! People say it isnt that bad, besides the bus, but that not too bad either cmon.

Anyone having trouble deciding if they should pick a room in bursley now instead of waiting for any vacancies on central?

Thank you fellow transfers

im up for a facebook group.

All of you who are admitted, where r u guys gonna be living?

@hsch3333 im an Econ major too! 5 credits away from a junior -.- but anyways, i’ll be dorming as well. Was thinking bout bursley but heard it’s really far from where our classes are?

@asheikh - WOW! Sub-3.0 gpa and you got in? Congratulations my friend! Make sure you raise that GPA at UofM though haha.

@lakersFTW ive got like 5 credits to go to b a junior as well! well looking at the roomlist page, the only option is bursley, and i dont think we should risk waiting for opening on central cuz then bursley might fill up as well.

Ive been on the bus route, its like a 5-10 minute bus ride, cmon its not so bad, considering the alternative of having to look for offcampus housing or so. the busses run every 5-10 minutes on the route as well. maybe well end up near each other in bursley!

@albo23 I know. Quite the miracle story as I’ve never seen anyone with my stats get in. I had a horrible first two years, with a ~2.7ish GPA. But, come junior year I obtained a 4.0 for Fall, applied for winter and got rejected, then applied again for Summer of 2012 (sending in Winter midterm grades, which were also 4.0). So essentially, ~2.7 for first two years, 4.0 for third year. By the time I start however I will have a teeeny bit above a 3.0.

@hsch3333 speaking of being 5 credits away, that doesn’t mean that we have to stay in UMich for another year, right? Where are you transferring from btw?

Only 5 to 10 mins of bus ride?! PSH. That’s nothing. I walk to college everyday for like 30mins, an hour back and forth -.- i’m going to go with Bursley then, seeing how the choices are so damn limited right now.

@LakersFTW ill prbbly be in Michigan for 2 more years before graduating. Ive done a semester at the American University of Beirut, and a semester at UM in dearborn

how about u?
and hers my email btw hscharar@umich.edu

@hsch3333 Most likely the same as you too. Hope I’ll only have to stay there for two years! I’m coming from a community college in California. By the way, do you have any idea what are the differences between the houses in Bursley Hall? Like how do ya know which one to pick - Sanford House, Van Hoosen, Van Duren, Hamilton House, and Bartlett House.
