<p>Just curious, but of those of you who have gotten the email saying you received a Morrill Scholarship- are you in or out of state students?</p>
<p>OOS here, although I’m from Ohio. I wrote my essay partly on that so maybe it helped?</p>

<p>Is everybody that is waiting for the distinction award just checking their account constantly or waiting until the end of month to check? I was told about checking around the end of Feb but they finalize around early-middle March. Was anyone else told this at the end of interview? Also did anyone else interview and can tell me what their experience is (die they actually tell u if u were “likely”?</p>

my son was told the 10 awardees would be called and informed of the decision by the end of the month. Since they are interviewing 2/29, that seems unlikely. Probably first of the March is more likely. </p>
<p>He was told those getting other awards would be notified in their account around the middle of March. As someone else posted in this forum, last year some accounts still had “under review” as the status even after people got their awards, so that’s a little confusing.</p>
<p>I guess I’d assume they will send emails in mid-March as well posting. </p>
<p>He wasn’t given any “likely” message. If you were, congratulations. If not, I wouldn’t be surprised. I would guess they still have quite a few interviews and may not even start prioritizing until after they are largely complete. </p>
<p>Why the didn’t tell you about the phone call - probably just didn’t. Even though I’m pretty ignorant about the process, I wouldn’t attach any meaning to it.</p>

<p>Thanks for the response! I’ll stop wasting time checking until March then. Do you know whether we should check on the MSP account or the OSU general account under scholarships? I wasn’t given a “likely” message 
but I asked because a student that interviewed before me was ecstatic and said she did so I thought they gave hints to the people who were getting the scholarship. Anyways, best of luck to your son!</p>

<p>Welcome. A thought/guess/rationalization is that they told the person ahead of you she was likely to get some scholarship / some level of the Morrill. I only say that because it seems that if you qualify for an interview (one of 60 out of I think ~2000 submissions), you are likely to qualify for something. Maybe I’m just being wishful because I’m hoping that is the case. </p>
<p>I don’t see an obvious place here they would post an award on the Morrill site. So, I would say its on My.OSU. However, OSU has notified my son by email he’s received some scholarships, and they are not posted there yet. Come March, we’ll be trying both.</p>

<p>They said they would call the recipients at end of Feb, but since they were offering interviews on 2/28 and 2/29 I wonder if it will be more like early March. </p>
<p>Those not getting Distinction but one of the other scholarships should be notified mid-March.</p>

<p>If you haven’t heard anything yet then you’ll find out mid march. Toni told my sister that those who found out now are either in the running for the Distinction or they were accepted before December 1st. You still have a chance to receive some type of Morrill Scholarship, just not the Distinction if you haven’t heard anything yet. So chill guys, be patient :)</p>

<p>Toni Ramirez told me that they are going to notify the decisions on March 17th by e-mail and by updating the status on the MSP Online Application site. Keep the fingers crossed.</p>
