So are we supposed to find out about MSP today?

That was the rumor. “Mid-March” has been a consistent message, and earlier in this string someone wrote Toni said 3/17. We haven’t received anything yet.

Given the lack of activity on the site, I’m hoping that means no word has gone out – FWIW

It would be odd for them to send emails on a weekend.

According to Morrill Scholars’ Facebook Page:

“Decisions will [go] out AFTER the 17th. You will receive and email and can log onto your MSP account. Good luck!”

S got a call at the beginning of this month via phonecall notifying him that he received the distinction (he went to interview mid-Feb). However, he has yet to receive official confirmation of this via email, msp app or osu app status. What does this mean? Will it be out later?

Congrats to your son and all other MSP Scholars! My daughter, in Georgia, received the Excellence award with notification on her personal email on 2/08/12. I inquired in early March and was emailed that her MSP application would be updated soon. Still not updated as of today. I am certain that since they phoned your son that he has the Distinction award, full ride.

This week is Spring Break at OSU, but the MSP Office is open, minus Student Assistants. Everyone should check their MSP account daily at this point…we will all know very soon if we are as fortunate as your son.

Good luck to all and “Go Bucks”!

Sorry for misleading you guys. I was clearly told that the notifications was going to go out on March 17th but nothing happened so far. I am disappointed and running out of patience.

I hate how they nag you constantly about turning in the application on time and send you basically nothing for when decisions may come out…

Yeah, the emails from Toni got so annoying, which is what made me do the essay in November. I found out about the excellence early, but I need the prominence to go so instate tuition is as good as nothing.

I would love to know…soon.

Incredible! Still no news! That Toni Ramirez who were nagging all the time before Dec. 1st now does not even answer the e-mails or phone calls.

I totally agree with you nygiant, I was thinking the same thing. The wait is killing me.

Toni has briefly answered my emails this week. The short version is - thanks for your patience.

I’m hoping she’s working with the others to make the final decisions and post the results.

It is frustrating, particularly when the other colleges are starting to push for commitments. Hopefully the wait will be worthwhile.

For everyone that’s complaining about the email annoyances and “nagging” about the deadline, you have to realize that they take interest in the students who are eligible for this scholarship. I understand how stressful it can be to just wait and find out about a decision that could change your life, but while we wait here for an email and try to contact them constantly…they’re working as hard as they can to make a proper decision before a deadline (maybe why it’s hard to contact her). Being frustrated and complaining definitely aren’t going to speed up the process at all. I’m just grateful for the fact that Mrs. Ramirez gave me the opportunity to interview for the distinction. Hopefully the decision will be up early next week, but good luck to everyone!

Hello,

I submitted my application on December 1st, and I have not heard any news. I am an in-state student. Many have already received interviews for distinction, so does that mean that those interviews are over, or is there still a chance I could get an interview? I am quite worried about my prospects at this point. I did get accepted into the Honors program and received a provost scholarship.

Also, I did get into Ohio State about one week after I submitted my application for Morrill. I’m pretty doubtful at this point I going to get it based on the fact that they were calling for interviews in february, while I have not heard anything at all from them. Will I get notified that I did not receive any award if that is the case?

Since you haven’t gotten an interview, I think distinction isn’t a possibility. But you could get one of the other two :)

I actually called the office on Thursday (the 23rd) and the guy told me that they were supposed to get out all of the decisions by last week, but they were hoping to get it done by the end of this week (like by the 25th)… he said they were waiting on permission to release the decisions.

so I called and spoke to Maria Sanchez and she told me that decisions should be posted Wednesday

Where should we look for the official decisions at? OSU financial aid account, MSP account or elsewhere?
