**Official Northwestern 2016 ED Applicants' Discussion Thread**

16, I am! that would mean…ten days!

Everyone on this board is making me nervous posting their stats haha, they’re all so good. But I guess only people who are smart post on this forum for the most part. My 31 ACT is not looking too hot now that I see this, lol

Oh I wouldn’t worry about a 31 ACT at all. That’s just one part of the whole picture they look at. Plus, I’ve read that the average ACT for NU students is 30-34, so you’re in a good position there anyways. As long as you’re a well rounded candidate you should have nothing to worry about!

Thanks for the reassurance! I am hoping I have done enough… I have had like no free time over the past 3 years. I am a competitive tennis player and I am ranked pretty highly in the nation, so that has taken up so much time. Other than that, I was the captain of my varsity tennis team and I made dream team and was player of the year all 4 years, I am a senior rep in NHS, I am in Spanish Club, and I have been a member of the Peer Assistance Leaders for 3 years. My GPA is 4.1 and I have taken 5 AP classes and gotten A’s in all of them. I also have had a job at a local bakery for 2 years in customer service. So if what I have done is not enough, I will have no regrets since I have done as much as I could have done with my time. Sorry, I just needed to vent this somewhere :stuck_out_tongue: haha

Dang sounds like you’ve stayed busy! All of that will definitely help out. And I totally agree! It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one out there waiting anxiously for a response and to be able to discuss it all with other potential students in the same position. The sooner the they release the decisions the better! Good luck!

Does anyone know if it is less advantageous to apply to one school over another? I am applying to McCormick (Engineering) undecided but wonder if having applied to WCAS would have affected my chances.

Anyone else find it really really really inconvenient…well at least at my school…December 15th happens to be the second to last day of midterms week?..I have finals for 6 AP classes. I would greatly appreciate it if NU gave me a decision a couple of days early to save me some stress for midterms hahaha. Oh well, I doubt thats going to happen, especially b/c they pushed back the ED deadline this year cuz of the weather

Also kinda worried about 2 things with NU. The decision and the financial aid. I guess we’ll see though.

Good luck guys.

From Penn EDer

I agree with life2dmax… December 15th is right in the middle of my exam week… I won’t be able to focus when I’m getting nervous over Ed decision…

Does anybody know the type of media that Northwestern uses to respond to ED? I know a bunch of schools have an online login or get an email, but I also know most schools do it “old-school” by mail. Thanks!

It will be an email. Has anyone heard if it will be on the 9th?

I emailed the Admissions Office a day or two ago, and “mid-December” was still as specific as they would tell me. That makes me think it’ll be later rather than sooner.

15 days left

Starting to get really nervous over here!

I think last year they would only say mid-December too, and it was on the 10th. I’m guessing (more hoping though haha) that it’s going to be on the 9th

Okay, I’ve definitely been stalking this thread for the past month, and I finally decided that it was about time for me to actually make an account. I applied ED to WCAS and is EXTREMELY nervous about being accepted or not. I even have a little countdown going on my iPad ^_^

You should be sharing your stats!

If they’re bettter, then everyone else gets more nervous!

If they’re worse, then everyone else gets more nervous, becvasue at first they are relieved, then realize things are worse because Bad Karma will bite them in the butt! :

Good Luck (But that’s only cuz you applied Weinberg, not McCormick…)

Is Weinberg one of the more difficult schools to get into? That is the college I listed in my application and I was wondering if anyone knew where it stands in terms of difficulty of admission?

i would like to know that too…
i applied ed to mccormick.
does anyone know if mccormick is easier?

and if i get in, will i be able to minor or take classes at other colleges? like econ at weinburg?

Yes you can mix and match classes across the colleges
