@londondad It is too late to request an interview if you applied early decision. For ED they only had them up until November 1st. There’s more info about the interviews here http://admissions.northwestern.edu/visit/admission-interviews.html. I agree with @McKilla99 that interviews aren’t too big of a deal, and not having one definitely won’t hurt your chances
I canceled my interview twice with two different interviewers and was accepted
Does anyone know if they release the ED acceptance/rejection letter on december 15th or by december 15th ?
@bhwbqhfb3owi What?
@McKilla99 Do they decision notifications for ED only on the 15th of december or do can they release them before that?
@bhwbqhfb3owi Oh! Sorry, I misunderstood. They’ll post on the exact date - 15th December eastern time
Looking at past years it actually seems like 15th is a goal but not a promise, so I guess there is some ambiguity with the date.
@TheMagicMarker I don’t think it can fluctuate by more than a day though
Sounds about right
**** just found out I bombed my SAT subject tests. 690 History. 680 Lit. 740 Math I. 640 Math 2 ( Don’t make fun of me:( )
It was a mistake to send them automatically to NU and an even bigger mistake to take them in the first place. NU was already a reach stats wise and this just solidified my conviction that I’ll be rejected lol. No one in the ED results thread had SAT 2’s less than 700…The admissions officers will probably writhe in horror after seeing the results lol
Oh well, time to move on and write 10 more supplement essays haha
@RamenUniversity Calm down man. SAT 2s are just a small, and OPTIONAL part of the application, and even if you submit them, they’ll consider it only if it substantiates your claim for admission
@RamenUniversity Plus, 740 on math1 is a really good score at a very high percentile
@McKilla99
Tnx brotha. I was mostly kidding about the whole 110% apocalypse world-ending rejection B.S, but yeah, Im mostly just trying to tell myself I won’t get in so that if I get rejected it hurts less and if I get accepted its that much more special and shocking.
Anyways, it’s pointless to worry about it now. Hope you get in dude, see ya in a month
Can’t believe theres only three weeks until the decisions come out. I’m slightly below average as far as GPA and SAT scores go, but I’m hoping applying ED and having a good essay will put me up and over. I won’t be too devastated if I don’t get in, because I move on real well, but it’s still a very anxious time for me
Any international student here?
@muynoches Yeah, I’m international
How many of you will/did apply for financial aids?
My son did not get a confirmation from NW either, just one from the Common App saying that it was submitted.
I don’t know how the confirmation receipts work in general, but for me I submitted my application on the 1st and immediately received confirmation from the Common App. Four days later, on the 5th, I received a “receipt” confirming my application from Northwestern and then on the 9th I received an email saying that my application was “complete and under review.”
my stats were right in the average for northwestern/ sort of on the low side though – and I submitted under the early decision plan! however in the additional info section of my common app (wrote an abstract for science research i did) i made two grammar errors in the same sentence that made that entire sentence nonsensical. should i contact NU about this? did it completely ruin my chances of getting in? (The errors were pretty awful, i added in an extra verb in one part and then wrote impertinent when I meant to write important in another). SOS let me know!
