Chrohn, the difference is, to the best of my knowledge, kind of confusing. Imagine a hallway divided into 4 segments. Each segment has rooms in it, one bathroom, and a living space. So technically anyone can use any bathroom, or living room, since they walk through it, but it’s kind of generally that area’s stuff.

@44sunsets Close seconds for me are USC (Southern California), Syracuse, UNC Chapel Hill, and University of Hong Kong. A wide variety is the way to go!

But Northwestern’s been my dream school since summer of junior year. I think I’ll be happy going somewhere else though, because it’s all about how you think about it!

Hinman is a great dorm! We lived there for Cherubs this summer and it’s pretty convenient, especially with the dining hall.

my second choice would probably be berkeley, or la. or michigan, nyu… there are some colleges that I really really want to go, but to be realistic, I have good chance at those schools mentioned above so those would be my second choices.

I also applied EA to UChicago which apparently is where fun goes to die…but other than that, I also would like to be accepted to WashU in St. Louis.

But Northwestern just gives me the feeling that it’s perfect for me. I never even thought I’d have a chance but ACT score and junior grades finally gave me some hope. I’m sure I’ll move on if I don’t get accepted but man…if only I would!!

@aquamay14 I heard that there were over 10k applicants for UChicago EA this year! craziness

I know!! It’s totally insane. And the fact that applicants increased so drastically, my chances also decreased drastically, ahah. The only reason I think I have a chance is that I think I’m somewhat interesting, at least my essay was good. Other than that, my grades are average for UChicago so we’ll see…
Hopefully, I’ll get into NU and then I won’t care about UChicago!

why cant we speculate more about when well get our decisions back?

what is everyone gonna do first thing after they find out?

I have a list of people (in order) that I will announce my acceptance to. If rejected, I shall retreat under my blanket for a couple hours and then I think I’ll be okay!

Accepted - eat copious amounts of food
Rejected - eat copious amounts of food while trying to convince myself that I’ll be happy wherever I end up :P

^ Good plan.

Okay, let’s switch gears. Has anyone seen any good movies lately or planning to see some movies? I saw “Lincoln” and I loved it. Can’t wait to see “Les Miserables” on Christmas Day. I saw the painting at the Louvre that inspired Victor Hugo to write the book and I’m so excited to see the film.

EDNUFTW, I just noticed what your username means…

I can’t speculate anymore tonight cause I have to do homework. It’s Sunday evening… I bet a lot of kids are starting their homework right about now…
If I get in I’m only telling my parents and friends who also applied early to NU (can’t really avoid it) and my other friends only if they ask ^^ I know if they didn’t get in early or didn’t apply early, they wouldn’t want my success… err rubbed in their faces. Not that deciding to tell your own friends is bad… I just live in a place where… college admissions is a hugge stress factor and drama … causer for lack of a better word.

If I don’t get in I’ll prob just playfully tell people. I def won’t be whimpering next to my friends at lunch but I have some friends who I am SURE will do this if they don’t get into xyz…

Yeah…my report on Robespierre calls…
Goodnight, CC people!

Life of Pi? I already saw the first Les Miserables movie like… 10 times in French class. I think my mom hates watching stuff with me 'cause she loves soap-opera-ish dramas and movies… and I always make snarky “pfft first world problems” comments and imitate the characters in a falsetto. Yeaah… so I don’t really like watching movies with too-good-looking characters having first-world problems. I like grave danger and underdogs beating the odds type of movies.

Accepted - Call my parents (both of whom will be out of town Friday) and my little brother who will probably be at tennis lessons. Also eat copious amounts of food! :)

Rejected - … do the same thing, followed by a nap. LOL.

Bummylyfe.

I think the decisions will most likely be released Wednesday or Friday. But I mean, no one knows for sure. I don’t think they’re going to release it any earlier than Wednesday though… I don’t think many of the schools are planning to release until then.

hazymemories28, my intuition tells me Wednesday too! I just feel like Friday is too abnormally late. Probably not tomorrow… mayyybe Tuesday. If we didn’t get it by Wednesday, then 50/50 Thu/Fri.
I wonder when we will get our physical letters… Won’t they have to mail them out before they put decisions online so we don’t get them half a month after we find out? I feel like I read somewhere (don’t remember) that the letters came just two days after the online announcement. Though I’m guessing that would vary depending on where you live.

I have been nervous and freaking out all today evening somehow, and then I started coming up with BAD things about northwestern. it’s too cold, remember snow that you had to go through when you lived in wisco? maybe too midwest, too white, chicago’s kinda far away, it will be competitive, they suck at sports… then I am not as nervous as I was before! I think that is a great thing to try if you are still ABNORMALLY nervous like I was. I started thinking about warm california weather and uc berkeley and ucla filled with my race and Emory University with its nice weather and nyu with new york city… now i feel much better. Though Northwestern is still my very first choice, I managed to convince myself that I might actually be better off in other colleges.

I read “Life of Pi” and I loved it. Yeah, I wanna see that as well. A friend said the aesthetics of the film are breath-taking. My boyfriend cannot believe I’ve never seen “Toy Story” so I’m gonna see it during winter break to make him happy :)

u realize people who read this next year will be like *** why are they talking about other classes. I want to let everyone next year who is reading this right now looking for when their admissions decision to come out, I FEEL YOUR PAIN MAN.
