Hi, alum and parent of a current sophomore (class of 2015). I can confirm that the ED decisions were released around 5 pm central time on Friday, December 10, 2010. However, I don’t know whether that was the end of reading week or the end of finals week that year.

Currently, at NU they have just finished reading week, and finals week is this coming week (week of December 10-14). Best of luck to all.

In 2010 the tenth was the end of exams… so for the past four years it has been released the same day exams end. But in the past four years exams ended either the 9th or 10th. Because classes started later this year (i think) the exams are later. But will this mean the release date is later? Idk… i have a feeling tomorrow or tuesday is the day. SOMEONE SHOULD CALL

I don’t think they’ll tell you the exact date even if you call… I bet they’ll just say “sometime this week.” However, has anyone tried calling yet?

I called last Friday. I was greeted with an annoyingly ambiguous automated message that just said that “early decision applications are under review and should be released by December 15th.” Bleh. Back to square one of hopeless speculations.

In 2010, we were told decisions would be out by December 15 (which was a Wednesday that year) and it just so happened that S checked his spam folder on Fri, December 10 around 6 pm and the official letters had been sent at 5 pm that day.
So … even though he had added every NU address to his mail folder, this one still went into the spam folder.

So moral of the story: 1) You won’t know til you know and 2) Check your spam folders.

Does anybody know what email address the decision is likely to come from?
I don’t want to add the wrong one to my address book, it would be so terrible if I saw some of my classmates getting in and couldn’t find my email because it was in the spam folder!

It tells you two email addresses to add to your contacts in the confirmation e-mail they sent out, add them both I guess, but what some people have already said is that it might still end up in the spam folder.

EDNUFTW, where are you getting these statistics? Also, does anyone know what day ED notifications came out the last few years (2009, 2010, 2011)?

hahahaha sadnessm44 he is obviously getting the ‘statistics’ from the fact that there are five days left till friday so it would be 20% today (1 out of 5) hahahaha that was funny. i really hope it comes out today too!
