***Official Princeton University Class of 2022 RD Applicant Thread***

@anxiouswreck Exactly.

@anxiouswreck I’ve seen you on the JHU, Rice, and Princeton threads (all schools I am applying to lol). Where else are you applying?

If Princeton decisions come out on March 28 at 7pm, will the other ivies do 5pm as usual or 7pm to match Princeton?

It will be the exact same time as Princeton. Harvard announced they are releasing it March 28th at 7PM EST.

thanks! @kaiiiiiii

@kaiiiiiii where did harvard announce that?

@dogsarelife there was some article that was posted somewhere from the Harvard Crimson… Found it: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2018/2/14/applications-numbers-2018/

@billybobby54 I applied to several schools, many of them against my will. My personal favorites include Rice, Yale, Tufts, Emory, Northeastern, Wesleyan, and UConn

@MrElonMusk This article only said that admission decisions will come out on March the 28th. It didn’t state that the decision will come out at 7pm. Where did you see Harvard mention 7pm March 28th EST?

Somewhere I forget. Perhaps it was on their website or from Twitter… but usually for ivies it’s either 5pm or 7pm

Harvard SCEA cane out at 7pm this year instead of 5 so I wouldn’t be surprised.

Yale SCEA came out at 5pm EST, does that mean RD decision will also came out at 5pm?

Been doing some research about the missing PFAA email and don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but there seems to be a strong correlation between receiving an email and acceptance/waitlist. I mean why would they send the email to 10,000 people or so if most of them were in the rejection pile? I’ve also heard that the FA and admission office are separate, but there must be SOME connection, right? Maybe all this is just wishful thinking as I received the email on 2/28 (well after the 2/1) deadline, but I do believe that there is some correlation

@nicolasdeadman I think this is true… I didnt get a financial aid email and I filled out the financial aid form earlier that day so it wouldn’t have been processed. It sucks bc Princeton was my favorite school i visited. Best of luck to you though bro

what is the PFAA? Was that the separate financial aid form we had to fill earlier this year?

@lemonade22 I appreciate it a lot, and I’m sorry about your situation :(, but I may be wrong as I have seen some posts on CC saying they got the email and were still rejected. It just intrigued me because why would they calculate the financial aid and get all that information together and ready if they weren’t going to accept you?

There is no longer a correlation. If you look at last year’s thread of people that tried out the theory, the vast majority of them were rejected. 3-5 years ago there used to be a correlation though.

@FourYearsornot the PFAA is the Princeton financial aid application. My email sent on 2/28 said that the deadline for the app and tax docs had already passed but they would accept them late with no penalty.

@MaybeHarvard2022 that’s what I thought initially, but why do you think they’d go through the trouble of asking for docs and the app if you were going to get rejected? Especially after the deadline had passed…it seems like they would be okay with not giving away money if you didn’t send the docs?

@nicolasdeadman It may be that the email is just automated. Better to not get your hopes up and be pleasantly surprised than bank on an acceptance and then take a fat L.
