I have a doubt about Regression, hope someone clears it
Barron’s page 183,
why do they take 15 for representing the year 1965?
Subsequently, 2 is taken for 20 mins in the exercises
I dont understand regression at all.
What’s regression? Is that stats? I haven’t come across it for Math2 but i learned it in stats last year…
Yup, its in Statistics,
Anyone?
I may know, give me an example or something
If anyone used Barron’s and has taken this test before, how much easier is real test than Barron’s tests?
Yes, but my question is how to figure out which x value to choose. For instance, in barrons, they say 20 mins, and choose x=2 without reason
i doubt that’s too hard. Once you found the exponential function, plug in x for y or plug in y for x. Either one works
Im sorry but that wasnt my question, do you have the barron’s book?
nope
Well thanks anyway
I got a 775(-6, 1 omit) using Barron’s Test #2. Am I almost guaranteed for an 800 on the real one?
I thought the test was really easy… Why does everyone think Barron’s is so hard? Or is Model test #2 easy?
Or is this because I’ve been taking practice tests from John Chung’s? Thanks
@ypmagic I mean i got 775 using barron’s conversion tool. They do 800 -10(44-raw score)
anyway good luck to everyone who’s taking it in three days.
^You still can’t get 775. You are supposed to round your raw score first.
yea dude you still have to round your raw score…
@baller55 @JuicyMango
Well then that’s a 780.
Anyway I took another practice test from barron’s and got a 800! (-3, 2 omit)
In general, are curves on the real test as good as the one in barron’s? (44 >= perfect on barron’s)
And to the people who are going to take this test later, USE JOHN CHUNG AND TAKE HIS PRACTICE TESTS.
After going through his book and taking practice tests from his book, I’m getting high 700~ 800’s on barron’s.
ALSO GET TI-89
The CAS(Computer-Algebra-System) on the Ti-89 is so helpful.
I use solve, expand, factor, limit, and sum functions all the time.
Plus polynomial division saves a lot of time too.
I haven’t taken it, but I’ve done my research on Barron’s. It seems like the actual test is a lot easier; someone in a different thread said that he/she had heard of people scoring 650s on Barron’s and 800s on the actual test. That’s the only thing that makes me feel better about my terrible Barron’s scores :\
@guy6127 They were just simplifying things. However, with the magic of a calculator, you can still input the tables as they are and still get the right answer. I checked.
If you guys are using programs, which ones do you think will be most helpful? So far I have the following programmed:
-Quadratic Formula
-Law of Cosines
-Average Rate (given two rates)
-Minimum (perpendicular) distance between a point and a line
-Angle between two lines
-Area of a regular polygon given the side length
-Heron’s formula

Good luck, ladies and germs
Dr. Chung’s is literally the hardest thing in existence. I took a timed test (gave myself 55 minutes) and I got a 640. I then finished the test and recalculated my score, which wasn’t much better–a 670. Overall, here were my scores:
Test 1: Collegeboard test (untimed): 750 - NO PREP
Test 2: Barron’s test (untimed): 740
Test 3: Dr. Chung’s Test (timed): 640; untimed: 670
With these scores, do you guys think I could get an 800 on the real thing?
