Official SAT Subject Test - Math Level 2 - June 2015

Barron’s totally crushed my confidence. I think I’m just going to take the Math 1 on Saturday.

I just got a 630 on my first Chung test… Starting to freak out about Saturday

I got a 790 on the CollegeBoard Test. Is this a good sign?

An 800 would be better :stuck_out_tongue:

@sdw8253 It’s harsh on the time limit and has more trickeries than usual. I barely made it in time and got a 760, a whole lot lower than my usual score.
Scientific calculators also have that “solve” function, too, you know. Aside from a few special cases, most questions that require graphing can be solved using deriatives. The statistical tools are pretty easy to use as well. It’s no use purchasing a graphing calculator if you don’t know how to use it effectively. A lot people have said that we should just use the calculator that we are most familiar with. That and scientific calculators are a lot cheaper than graphing ones.

just got a 700 on the first test in barron’s. i’m nervous now…

760 on test 5 Barron’s. Do sums on the actual test rely as much on graphical calculators as the ones in this book do?

Where can I get the spark notes practice test?

@meanjean: It’s true; don’t feel bad about yourself, Barron’s is way harder…just keep on reviewing your mistakes and you’ll be fine I’m sure of it :).
@UnicornDuchess: Lol just take math 2 don’t do anything because of a book. I felt like throwing my Barrons book out of a window at one point, but I challenged my self to get above a 750 on a practice test and I did because I reviewed the material thoroughly. Plus, the math 1 curve is horrible.

@APScholar18: I think Sparknotes took all of their practice tests down or something. But if someone has a pdf and is nice enough to share it with us…
I’m just hoping the test is going to be similar to the Barrons test because thats the only book I’ve been studying from.
And remember, I’ve found this weird pattern that whenever a problem mentions a cone, you have to use some type of proportion.

@JuicyMango did you find Barron’s test 6 abnormally hard?

If x minus 2 is a factor of x cubed plus (k times x) squared plus (12 times x) minus 8, then k equals

What’s the quickest way to solve this?

@APScholar18 Set x=2, set the equation=0, solve for k.

And no, I didn’t find test 6 unusually difficult.

@Frigidcold what did you get on it? And what math class are you in this year?

@APScholar18 780 or something close. I’m in AP Calc BC, which is a disadvantage because I barely remember Pre-Calc from middle school.

@Frigidcold lucky… My middle school had a rigid rule that you couldn’t go past Geometry in middle…

@APScholar18: Really? Schools should encourage you to go above and beyond the norm, not restrict you.
I didn’t find Test 6 too bad, any particular problems you found hard so I can help you?

How would you guys say the difficulty level of the real test compared to the Barron’s?

Isn’t adding 100~150 points an exaggeration of how hard the Barron’s is?

Can anyone chance me of getting 800?

800’s on both Collegeboard tests
780,790,790,800 on Barron’s
680,690,730,740 on Chung’s

Thanks!

I just got a 690 on Chung’s 5th test, how does the real test stack up to Chung’s?

Do we have to know the row-echelon form?
